  1. Woah, thanks!! I’ll just use shitty helmet harnesses from now on. kidding, obviously
  2. Damn. All of this stuff was good to know. Now, I know their service is annoying and this was probably talked about previously, but what’s your guys’ experience with the medusa harness? I was thinking of getting it so it wouldn’t interfere with my vinyl design/paint job (haven’t decided what way to go yet) but of course protection is always #1
  3. Hey, I’ll take it! Gonna teach myself to catch the other way so I don’t kill my bank account
  4. I know, RIGHT? I’ll see myself out
  5. Whew. All the cool gloves are on the regular hand... ?
  6. Absolutely sick. I love the white in the glove, would look even better if there was a dash of white in the blocker. Still looks awesome though. #SolidBlackPadsCrew?
  7. Good read. Really opened my eyes in this particular topic; does this look familiar to you? ? What’s sickening is battram actually does amazing custom designs. Cheaper gear or not it’s pretty immature to do.
  8. More in the arms and where it connects to the arm. Which is fine because the protection is heavily lacking there in my subzero 3, but I need time to break it in of course, and in person the chesty makes you feel bigger than it looks, or that’s just me
  9. Well, I wasn’t even explaining anything, just stating my opinions on the closures like some others, everyone has a different feel for things.
  10. I have the back of a 50 year old, does that count?
  11. Yup. I’ve had mine for a few months now and they don’t have much of a curve on them. The rebounds are pretty consistent too
  12. I currently have the Pro V elite right now and the strapping is pretty much identical to the SLR, but the front face has flattened out knee rolls unlike the slr where it has none, so basically it has butterfly style strapping but performs like a hybrid style pad (I.E. the V7 XF).
  13. Although I haven’t been here long and don’t know a lot of people here very well, I respected the opinions and advice you had. Best of luck
  14. Maybe it’s time to introduce myself, I’ll make it brief. First off, I’ve been in goalie gear for a year and a half and have been playing a little over a year, my dad and I started going to ducks playoffs games in 2014-2015 and I just got obsessed with it. I’ve always been a goalie even in soccer when I was younger so it was easy for me to choose. I started off in a house league and played on a JV team and it was awful, lots of drama. Anyways, I’ve had the same goalie coach ever since I got full gear and he’s the reason why I’m now playing in the ADHSHL Varsity Tier 2, I joined the team late but plan on going back. I also play for the LA Lions 16U AA but might not be after this season due to lots of drama as well. Overall, I wish I started playing hockey a lot sooner but there wasn’t a lot of hockey growing up, but it’s still the best thing I’ve ever done. Thanks for reading, Izzy
  15. Hey man! I’ve seen you on Twitter a lot, I don’t know if you know me but I’m a huge montour fan lol.
  16. I partially agree with that. Most I would do it is maybe 2 times.
  17. Yes, and I was very guilty of that with my CCM Premier, now I actually have to learn how to catch properly with my Vaughn.
  18. Did the keeps method twice on my glove. 5 minutes on the outside where it closes and bended the seams a little so it could naturally close it how I wanted. 5 minutes on the inside of the glove. After the 1st time I put it in the oven at about 180 degrees for about 5 minutes as wide as it can go without touching anything. After every game and practice I roll up one of my game socks, put it into the pocket and tape it shut. Don’t ever dry it out when it’s shut if you have a lot of time in between games/practices so it stays damp. After that I really wouldn’t do the keeps method at all just so it doesn’t worsen the protection.
  19. About time, Bauer.
  20. My catching hand has been on and off lol. even then it’s still been able to hold on to some pucks in the pocket.
  21. Trying on a 580 glove at goaliemonkey, I see why people like it but I HATE the feel of pinching your thumb and index finger to close it. Especially when you’re gripping the stick. It has a lot of benefits but I’m trying to get myself to be more adequate at puckplaying. I was never sold on the 590 breaks being the absolute best for that as I’ve heard some people say, I’d like to close it with my whole hand and I get that from my Vaughn glove now.
  22. Thank you! I’ve never worn a 5500 but it’s definitely more of a full hand closure than a CCM 590. Very comfortable, I didn’t have to try to find where everything was inside the glove unlike most Vaughn gloves I’ve tried on. Also very good for stickhandling too, still grips onto the stick really well even if I can’t close it all the way yet.
  23. Custom Vaughn LT98. I’ll try to post some in-action photos of it. I’ve had it for 2 weeks now and it’s the best glove I’ve ever worn but still needs some breaking in.
