  1. goto hockeyshop.com for the warrior stuff. its better pricing then leap year at hockeymonkey bc of exchange rate.. like a g6 sr set under 1k, for the pro set 1.5k us for full set and shipped. Been like that for a while too.
  2. The problem is when all the little kids back in 2010 thought the less straps u have the cooler u r , the mfg took them off, but forgot how pad works. The upper calf straps kept the pads from sliding down, they took it off and reinvented it and called it prof strap yes i know ben. That is what kept the pad up and not needing a boot strap. In conjunction with that, they forgot the pressure that kept the leg in was the strapping going to the outside edge of pad instead of inside, that why maf still use straps, control in the down motion. Relating to warrior pads having the g2,3,4,5, and soon 6 models: Use the boot strap and crank it above the skate behind and above the lundy loop , strap shoul have some tension not tight and secure it to the front to loop not heel loop. Dont u the calf slot holes in the back of heel on the pads. other alternative - take the sling , disconnect it from knee and feed it bt the calf and pad, velcro to calf so its next to leg. one of the members have a pict of that in the middle and drag the pad up connect it to the othe side velcro.
  3. u can do the same thing with a option b strap on the top and right below it a runner heel loop. give u the ankle mobility as the above

wong put a g6 review on pads. 1 year review
  5. the warrior are the best padded ones. i usually buy new ones after 3 years maybe 4 once the foam gets compressed.
  6. having the same setup, i grab some elastic and tie it between the inside loops of the Chest unit. on the pant i add 2 mountain cabrier clips on the loops and hoop it in. on the back mcgever the back with a clip and elastic and clip to pants loop on back. tuck is on the outside. most goalies back in the day cut out the front piece in front of the pants, the chest is there..

I do know the g3 at 33 fits per sizing chart pro pad. The g4 pro pad fit for 2 weeks to a month then was falling off the block in butterfly bc of the knee break. also the nee foam block was too soft,, think it was a defect in the foam. G5 retail pad same size, good for 1 years, had to get this bc the g4 was terrible use it less then 6 months thats how bad it was, the g4. on the g5 had to add plastic rods down where the knee block break is, terrible break, same problem on as g4. the boot riser and knee block are compressed. no idea on g6 if i were to get g4 or g5 prob would get 34 . if g6 an g7 stiffer i would get 33 and if stuff goes sideways add rods or plastics
  8. or just get a shorter paddle and add a knob 1 " above the paddle/shaft joint
  9. stick length and paddle length are 2 diff things as well the shaft part of the stick above the paddle
  10. any hockey blade with a rocker blade shape is easier to stick handle and redirect passes vs, flat. this is blade shape on the bottom not curve. easier to cradle the puck and get it off the boards. yes i know Carey Price change from a rounded toe to square, that is the full shape of the toe, the bottom of the toe is still the same shape.
  11. it is whoever is popular and on contract with the company at the moment. name changes over time but same pattern
  12. i use my alex von mach neck guard like 8 years or so created by alex and the vaughn rep as a school project. alex has them for 100$ shipped. kevlar and big thick d3o.. collar is just kevlar, dont need the collar protection of foam , mask is there. better then the 2 other products and cheaper
  13. no its not a custom spec some retail stick have it like the warrior wedge and ccm p1 price model. it a single point of contact on the ice where the blade pivot vs 8 " along the ice surface. composite stick u can shave on the warrior on composite.

no different, the surface is the same properties its where it bends
  15. stop getting hanged up on the length of the paddle, u can change the paddle shoulders, sand it down double slant or top slant or bottom slant. Get rocker blade shaped and the paddle will be shorter at the same length vs a flat blade.

Did the g6 have that awful below knee break? I Know the g4 did and make u land on the top of the block when in the down position. the g5 was the retail pricepoint model was fine for the first year and half then the break got soft and had the same problem.

  18. add knee stacks to each side of the c/a unit and add old thigh guards on top of floaters or add old plastic from player pants to top of shoulders using plastic tie down to secure.
  19. the heel on the Price is more rocker rounded vs wedge making the lie feel lower.price pattern u can go longer then the warrior bc of that. the twist is more flat on the bottom of the blade.
  20. no 27.5 warrior is not 26 ccm in all cases. if u change the shoulder paddle pattern it will be diff on where u hold it AND if the blade is flat vs rocker or semi rocker the connection to the ice and how where it is position is diff. which also ties into the lie to an extent of the rocker shape. so no dont make an assumption. its as dumb as people asking what skate sharpness they have when they have all diff skill levels and diff ice temp and rockers profile on their blades. of stupid people saying i need +1" thigh vs +2"thighrise on 2 diff brands and models at the retail level, and diff years.
  21. i use mountain carabiners from home depot and hook them from the pant to the inside underside of chest where the 2 loops are has a green elastic , the other half of elatic ties down the back with a knot and a twist.
  22. higher grade foam and better material. its going to be thinner or the same. rest is aftermarket modification and eqm hacks and modifications
  23. profile the skates and adjust sharpenign accordingliy
