  1. We spoke about this in another forum I believe, best thing on the market and I live by it after every use probably for the last 8 years. https://cleargear.com/
  2. When are they taking orders?Sep/Oct?
  3. When it comes to someone having so much pain, as I did with my first cowlingless skates (Bauer) you really need to find a skate that's the right fit. I have a small wide foot and went custom. Literally saved my life on the ice. Find the right skate, insoles will barley help.
  4. Bauer 940 as it was mentioned. Can't go wrong there.
  5. XL pants, and I make my ccm premium pro chesty wings as wide as I can... those save pucks let me tell you.
  6. CCM Pros and I like them big XL even if my waist is a 33
  7. I thought long and hard on who to go with....ended up with ccm. Read too many horror stories.
  8. Anything too tight will be really uncomfortable in a CCM pad...rotation will be a bitch.
  9. CCM pro pants, chesty in......inner belt around the bottom part of the chesty...tie pants laces to the chesty and outer belt tied as well. With suspenders over chesty.
  10. Probably time for a new team, cuz I get the feeling this isn't the end. I been in these situations but the score wasn't that high.
  11. Didn't have the greatest experience with him, seems like just a guy that prints and smacks it on your mask without much knowledge when it comes to art, or input. I had to go back and forth too long. Because mine was more complex, he did all the easy masks first...I had to wait, and way too long. The price was good, the work, and the print layed on my mask, was alright.
  12. Yup, the standard. Really like them vs the ones.
  13. For myself I went jenpro all around and SS on the sliding surface. No issues, just wear on the thigh rise.
  14. I'd like the quick strap back to where it was originally, I wonder if we have the option.
  15. My advice might be a little different than the others. I never grew up skating as I'm originally from Israel. I did when I was 13-15 for fun and wasn't good, always wanted to be in net as soon as I laid my eyes on hockey. Played lots on the street, gym, in net too. I had a good understanding of the sport. When I was maybe 25-26 I skated again, took it up and got the crazy idea to start play hockey, mind you, I always wanted to play in net as I said. I would be a good player IF I knew how to skate well. I took up 10 power skating lessons and from there played as a player for a D division for a year, mind you again...an average or below average skater. I wasn't having much fun. One day I said screw it and got goalie equipment, I didn't care. I played shinny for probably 2 years, all year...it was a struggle but I got down the basic movements, while again, being an average skater. I'm 41 now, in great shape, and a pretty good goalie. Better than your average beer league goalie, I'm athletic as well and played many other organized sports which helped me. See the thing is, it's the process, and you sticking to it, improving, watching videos. I was never coached but I got by. You don't have to be the best skater if you got the movements, shuffles, cutting angles, reading the play, t-pusges etc. You can do it, but your heart needs to be in it. I stuck to it, and after 11 years in net I'm pretty good, and I don't even play in those lower level leagues. My fondest memory was playing vs Cammalleri 4 years ago. One point of advice that will help you, is going on 4mm blades and not 3mm...I think it will help you.
  16. You're right, that's what he does best and ppl get intrigued by it, love it or hate it ppl comment lol. He does it for the money, it's like his story or some bs I wonder why some even follow his none sense.
  17. He keeps on saying, I borrow my firends gear (using his Axis set for like a month), sure you do buddy. I think he gets the Demo sets from Source for Sports on Don Mills where I go, and have Demoed a set before, perhaps another Source for Sports in another area too. He probably calls every second of every hour to get his hands on it, that's what he does. He gets nothing for free, no connections to any hockey company out there. Heck, the guy I know from PIAS gets me better deals lol
  18. Both of us my guy, can't stand him. Had enough run ins with him.
  19. Listen to him, right off the bat, he's so pissed about everything...it looks cool but it's not, anything, crazy speaical hahah
  20. You're 100 percent on that, he can't take criticism, opinions, it boils him up inside and he gets SO defensive. It's like dude, WHY are you even doing reviews? Stick to your day job because it's not on the ice, clearly by his videos. I guess this is why he left this forum, with his crybaby post.....just can't take others opinions, or heat for that matter. I wonder if he's actually lurking this place haha.
  21. Hockeyreviews is a joke, he was crying here when he left as if anyone gave 2 shits.... when this is a community of one another helping each other, it was about himself. He's bias, and that palm test was a complete joke. Any puck that hits the sweet spot will hurt that's why we have pockets. Move on from him.
  22. Are you in Toronto? Goalie crease got some it looks. https://www.thegoaliecrease.com/product/non-certified-cage-fits-bauer-profile-series-cateye-cheater-white/
  23. The question is, is it a personal life type of situation? Or really just hockey? Take care of yourself first, and the drive will come back. If it's strictly hockey frustration, remember why you started in the first place. Or, find out why you feel, the way you feel and fix it. I started hockey on ice in my late 20s as a goalie, no ice experience prior. It was painful, but after 12 years I'm a pretty solid goalie and love it. I play all year long because I'm scared that one day I won't be able to play again. I'm 41 and in great shape, so I got that. But one day, it will end. Fix yourself first, good luck!
  24. Left them, 5/8 on 4mm blade. My boot is custom.
  25. Once you get the 4mm blade you'd love them. I can't adjust to the 3mm blade either.
