  1. First in a long time. My last set of customs was a set of one100/rx10 that I hated so I just tried different off the shelf stuff since then. Decided that I had a good idea of what I wanted when the EF4s came out so I pulled the trigger.
  2. That should be a fun first skate. I went from 9k to one100 before going to cowling less so I got a little step in between with the vertexx cutout and taller steel. That first skate with my original pair of 1X was definitely noticeable. In a good way but it did take about half the first skate to really get comfortable with how close I could get my foot to the ice.
  3. CCM was 11-14 weeks when I ordered the first week of April.
  4. Judging by their feedback it's just a scam. Sideline has gone to hell in a real quick hurry. They took away commenting on posts which actually went a long way in calling out peoples BS when they would try to pass something off as something better than it was. They also just let businesses spam the hockey section with 7 year old equipment they are still trying to sell for retail price.
  5. New blocker came in today to go with the used glove I picked up last week. Don’t match perfectly but it’s not bad for the price. I forgot just how overbuilt CCM blockers are.
  6. Mine had some pretty obvious wear spots starting when I used them with one100 cowlings but as soon as I switched to a cowlingless skate I haven’t noticed any additional wear.
  7. I've used mine now for close to five years and it seems to be holding up well. I recently replaced the foams with ECOpro and that made it even more comfortable than it was previously. It's definitely a solid mask at the price point and I don't seem to have suffered any adverse effects from shots to the head as I have taken a few over the years. If you like the Itech 960 type mold masks it's worth a look.
  8. Yeah it was one of the easier things I’ve done. We tried using a regular sewing machine but it didn’t want to go through the elastic but the speedy was like a five min job.
  9. This is the only time I think they’ve ever been close enough to both fit in the same picture
  10. I've tried random pieces of gear from Warrior ever since the initial Ritual line and none of it has really worked for me other than like pants/cup/knee protection. I've wanted to love the pads and gloves but I can just never get them dialed in. The quality on everything Warrior I've ever owned has been top notch though and I'd never say anything bad about them. They're just not for me and that's fine. I will also second that they make some really good sticks.
  11. There's really not a whole lot of options with Warrior custom other than colors. You can have them not install some straps but that's about it. Their stuff is kind of designed to be customizable after the fact so that mixed with them not having a bunch of pro customers to bump regular joes down the list would probably explain why the wait times are quick with them.
  12. I just took one of the velcro ends off and threaded it directly through the holes in the toe bridge and then used the speedy stitcher to close it back up. Looks so much cleaner and less moving parts.
  13. Very true, though it is probably one of the most posh pickups available these days. I still feel like a poser from time to time even though there's always stuff in the bed and I have a trailer that gets towed around from time to time.
  14. I also have one. I’d probably be better served with a suv but growing up in the middle of nowhere it seems like you had to have a pickup so it’s what I’m used to.
  15. Yeah I didn’t realize until I had the speed plates out of the package that they had a good mix of support and cushion. All the pics on websites make them look hard and thin but they are very comfy after a quick bake.
  16. Just wanted to say great call on the speed plates. After baking the skates and the insoles they are the most comfortable skates I’ve had on my feet.
  17. Forgot to post these up last week when they arrived. Used them once right away and they were great and now I had a chance to bake them and throw in a pair of speed plate 2.0s so hopefully they will be even better tonight.
  18. Thanks for the info. Luckily I have about a hundred bucks worth of rewards to goalie monkey so I may pick a pair of those up depending on how the skates look when they get here. The Vertexx holders showed some wear in the pics so I may need to replace those first.
  19. I was actually looking into those today. I usually use the high arch ccm footbeds but the speed plates looked interesting. Anyone know if there’s a difference between the originals and the new ones?
  20. Just pulled the trigger on a pair of 1x skates off sideline swap. They looked to be in decent shape with new steel and at the price I figured I may as well give this whole cowlingless deal a shot. Hopefully these work out as I seem to be chasing the perfect skates lately and it’s been going poorly.
  21. They also don’t deliver products paid for so they could make something that brings my GAA down to 0 and I’d still never give them another dime of my money.
