From what I have read, the Refuze is V2 like in shape but deeper at the base of the pocket. Jason says it is more of a pancake glove compared to the Patriot and the more popular of the 2.

@RichMan you are correct. His Liberator blocker was bindless. That model is no longer in production. The current blocker he makes is the one he doesn't like how the bindless looks yet. @bunnyman666 I've had arthritis in the hips since I was 27 and still going. You can always talk with him to see what will work for you. As for pricing, I believe his website says $1,100 for Hybrid pads. Mine were actually less since I had to sell my last pair I didn't like. Jason wanted to make a pad that worked for me and did full custom for less than list price. This is a special case though as the last pads just didn't work out. I used my new ones in a game last weekend for the first time and felt great. Very happy with them. I believe if you have custom options you want done, he doesn't up charge for them. Overall Boddam has been good to me and will stick with this set for awhile.

I've been in Boddam long enough that i figured i should really do abit of a review. This thread is also for all things Boddam. Im now on my third set of pads and fourth blocker. Still haven't tried the glove but maybe someone else can comment. I play beer league against everyone from life long rec players to former pros. I grew up watching Ed Belfour, Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur. I play butterfly but get up on the wrong foot alot and sometimes not the smoothest moving around the crease. I end up throwing up a two pad stack once in awhlie but never a kicksave as my groin and abductors are shot from arthritis in the hips. The blocker I love Boddam blockers. All 4 i have owned have been stock except for the intermediate palm for my smaller hand. I disagree with people who say a blocker is a blocker. The balance is great on the Boddam blocker. I find the hand placement just right as well. Its more in the center of the board and with the curved face, i can deflect pucks well over the net if im a bit behind tracking the puck and just get a piece. Rebounds dont fly off the blocker but do go to the corners without having to punch it that way. Figure protection is good. Ive never had any issues with it. No injured fingers. Weight is good. I dont place a premium on weight but this blocker is as light as any ive put on in the store. The one thing about Boddam blockers is you cant get a bindless one. Jason just doesnt like how it turns out so he hasnt bothered to offer one. Pads - Hybrid model As you can see from who i followed when i was younger, a hybrid pad is ideal for me. A narrow butterfly is the reason for a double break. The pad is soft but it is firmer than the original version. Very soft boot break and the pad has lateral flex in the shin. The pad internals are more traditional which does contribute to alittle more weight than most pads today. As mentioned, i put a premium more on comfort tham weight. Im sure the Patriot or Refuze pad would be much lighter. I like my pads locked down to my foot so i continue to use an open toe and boot strap. Tapered toe and thigh rise. I move so much better with the taper. I havent had issues with pucks through the 5 hole as the pads are 34+3. I use sno seal on them and am able to slide well. Perhaps not as well as a pure butterfly pad but works well for me. The straps are all adjustable or removable so ive been experimenting with different strapping. I asked for a softer knee landing since the old knees are wearing out and i do notice the new pads are softer than the last pair i had. Jason was good to work with. My new pads are the same as the first ones i had which lasted 5 years. He is open to making a pad that works for you. I did have some issues getting him to do open toe again but he was able to get it done. Quality has been good on both the pads and blockers ive owned. They are well put together and ive faced some really good players without any issues. Let me know if you have any questions. http://boddam.com/hockeyhome
  5. @cwarnar is correct. Jason just isn't happy with his bindingless blocker. I didn't want blue binding though so sticking with my tradition, I went all white on the face again. I didn't do a blue stripe on face as without logo on it I think it looks odd. The whole idea here is majority white on gloves, and majority blue on pads. This is my 4th blocker from Jason. Absolutely love the balance of his blockers. I will argue all day long that a blocker isn't just a blocker. Hand placement, rebounds, feel, handling the puck, all of this I have found that this blocker works best for me.
  6. Got my decals from Michel today. I know it's a small thing but I'm pumped to rock the Koho logo again.
  7. Just received pics of my new pads. Boddam Hybrids once again. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! My old ones are white/navy. New ones are dark royal/white. I find I move best in a tapered pad with lots of flex. Very much an old school feel. Tried to square of the toe and thigh on a previous pair of Boddams but I ended up selling them. New blocker coming to which will be my 4th blocker from Boddam. Love the balance. Should match my WGD glove well!
  8. Been in my ProtechSport for about 5 hours now. Should have bought one years ago! Great mask!!
  9. First time using cheater cage and love it. I found that one of the bars on the cat eye was always in my sight lines. Tend to wear the mask alittle higher. Now I have a proper fitting mask and vision is great.
  10. Mold was pretty easy actually. I'm glad I did it. I when my mask showed up, he pretty much had the straps and chin cup in right spot with minor adjustment needed. it's also the best fitting mask I've ever had. Just my own experience but I think doing the mold is well worth it.
  11. Hey @TitanG I actually wore a Kustom Made Masks Mage previous but the fit was too loose so Protechsport was the way to go. I kinda like that it mirrors the Mage abit. Been great the first few skates.
  12. I didn't do smooth interior, will try to find time for a pic.
  13. Deposit in early April, received it Nov.10th Yep, short chin, Théodore mold.
  14. Got mine last week. Best fitting mask I've ever had!
  15. C/A: Vaugh Vision Pants: McKenney 870 pro I wear the c/a untucked. Suspenders under c/a. On the inside on the belly pad I have a loop added. Run the pant belt through it to pull it down. Simple as that.
  16. Buddy of mine just received his Keneskys and recently got new Passaus too. He will get some time on ice with both and provide some thoughts here.
  17. Went with the PL33. Dave said more of a catching glove suitable for smaller hands. Hope he is right! I should get it early next week. Back hand is standard for the glove except for the wrist strap through the backhand for easier tightening. Been in my Agatone for 3 seasons. It was a great glove but if the WGD plays as good as it looks, i'll be super happy.
  18. So I was told yesterday that my mask is now in trimming stage. If all goes well it will be completed in 3 weeks. When the order was originally placed I was told end of September. So Michel is alittle behind but totally feel the wait is well worth it!
  19. Well found out yesterday I'm a Théodore mold. Can't wait to see the final product!
