  1. Good price cuts through November at Goalies Plus https://www.goaliesplus.com/black-friday/
  2. I don't recall seeing many non-white windows in the cage. Very interesting.
  3. I agree with Coop that comfort is key. Don't worry about certain gear dictating how you play, that's not how it works. You can play any way in any gear. Gloves and blocker especially are all about feel. The wrong glove in comfort is going to be all but impossible to come around too. So go for feel there. For pads, the most significant thing to think about is how much flex you want, soft vs. stiff. Aside from that, you're going to find similar versions of the same thing in terms of strapping and toe ties across brands, more or less.
  4. Lundqvist at the Hall of Fame game. He got a shutout.
  5. Nice work. Thanks for sharing. You'll look back on this in 10 years and love it. I like your (unintentional?) white window in the cage.
  6. I could talk myself out of this over beers but my intuitive favorite set of all time is this, head to toe.
  7. Nice. It's a great glove. I love it. My hypothesis is still, given however many goalies, pros or like us, try it stock, the number of goalies who go "nah" is way higher than the number who go "yes." If it's true that Shadow has a stock wrist strap, this is huge support for my hypothesis.
  8. Also this is a user generated discussion forum. TGN is itself not a brand and this is not a formally sponsored space. There's nothing we can't discuss on here, just clearing that up.
  9. That creamy fuzzy underneath part looks so comfy.
  10. True, especially nowadays. Resale value would be wiped with it cut out too, most likely. I guess it just seems like a bulky, invasive thing that touches you a lot for something that is not being used in its intended, functional way.
  11. That's surprising, at that point it's like a velcro knee wing when you put the knee strap down to the calf area.
  12. I actually agree with you here, fully. I only separated pros from us because, well, we watch them on TV getting paid to do what we spend money to do for fun and that's not nothing. But let's take that separation away so it's not confused as an argument point: -how many users of stock Mach gloves have rejected it due to the absence of a wrist strap? The answer to that question speaks to my argument, which is that Bauer failed on that aspect of the glove, which is further supported by them bringing back a wrist strap in Generation 2 of the glove. I have no ill will or sour grapes against them for it, in fact, I'm waiting for the opportunity to throw them $3k+ on a custom Shadow set. I can't wait. I support innovation, both successes and fails.
  13. Woah, you mean it's there and you just leave it loose and floppy? Insane. I expect a post in the Modifications thread by sundown.
  14. Ah. @Hockey34 said he doesn't use it so I assumed it was removable.
  15. Agreed on Demko, for sure. So sassy.
  16. Nice, is it easily removable on the Vapor90?
  17. The Fleury save made my stomach hurt, holy ouch. https://youtu.be/mY4JZLd0hNE?si=W9uJuo_71aXg1kbz
  18. It came off once reaching to my left on the ice for a cover and was going to fly off on a glove save but I managed to turn my hand upward to fight the gravity, so to speak, and kept it on about halfway. Both happened within a week or so early on and it was the Aha Moment I needed to say "ok, this change sucks."
  19. Haha, or conversely, maybe some people are excessively embracing of change? How many pros are using a stock Mach glove without a wrist strap? How many goalies on here have bought a stock Mach glove and said "Yes, finally, this is my glove"? Speaking for myself, I've used 100% Vaughn since I started playing at age 12 and did so for 29 years straight, The Bauer Mach line was exactly what I needed to see to get me out of Vaughn. I'm very dialed in to what I like and what works but also how I wanted to change as a goalie. I got my first set and my response was "Yes, finally, this is my line of gear, however........." The nature of change is that some change fails, and that's fine. I don't think the sensation of "my glove constantly feels like it is going to fly off of my hand" or the experience of my glove actually flying off my hand makes me, personally reluctant to change, it just makes me justifiably critical of this particular change.
  20. There's so much to unpack here and many of us can help, but first, can you post pics of the leg channels so we can see how the strap was installed and how it looks both open and closed as it would be on your leg? To answer one of your questions: yes, some people literally land off the knee block, knee to ice. This can happen if pads are too big, too small, or too loose.
  21. All new ANKLEL@TCHL(O)CK Technology exclusively by Lefevre: Lefevre: Goalies, you ever wanted your ankles to be latch locked into place so they do not move AT ALL and have your skates go up to your knees so you don't need knee pads anymore? Goalies: No. Lefevre: Bienvenu! Welcome to all new ANKLEL@TCHL(O)CK Technology exclusively by Lefevre! Goalies: Uhhhhhhh. Isn't Bauer the company that invents new problems and solves them against our wishes? Lefevre: Roy never wore Bauer though.
  22. So many options too, jeez. He could also asked to be paid!
  23. I'm in 4 out of 10, with letter subdivisions in each.
  24. Haha. What division are you again? I'm in 4 here so translating to Canada I'd be Iike 11.
