  1. In the past I would often change equipment pretty frequently (sometimes multiple times a season). It's been a struggle to find pieces that fit me well and perform how I'd like. I would love to say I'm in my forever set now but odds are I'll still upgrade when I can so long as the new versions aren't too different from the what I'm using now

For very few of us on here it's to attempt to gain a competitive edge whether that be in youth, juniors, or college hockey. For the rest of us I have no idea. I've really only recently found what works for me in all situations and now I'm trying to find a set that does that rather than continue modifying my own. The things I tend to wear out most are gloves and skates which is really all I'd need to replace year to year. But when a manufacturer fixes a problem I've genuinely encountered and attempted to fix (G6 lack of calf pillow and mediocre strapping) it makes me more inclined to replace my set.

He's next. Probably G6.1 It's expected to be the same as G6. The below the knee break on my G6 set has broken in nicely and started to take a curve so I'll probably stick with a stock stiffness set for myself I thought we had an agreement how we felt about that blocker

You'll be happy to know I converted a kid who's been loyal to all bauer gloves since 1S to a G6.0

You are correct. Warrior hasn't really brought anything new to the table in quite some time but with the way they've been building pads since G2, everyone's only recently caught up. G2 had an integrated knee block, pretty solid rebounds, very good sliding for the time, super soft glove off the shelf, no wrist strap, adjustable blocker finger protection, inset knee strap for extra stability, and of course the wonderful shin pillow which made the pad feel more connected
  6. If I end up being too lazy to dye the ccms I'll agree

Ironically I think it's a very healthy mix of everything he likes in a set

Shhh just give him a 7.1 with a 90 degree palm and all will be fine

Some would argue it's one of the best
  10. Thought he was supposed to be fun that's not fun
  11. I can not emphasize just how perfect G7 is for how I wear my G6 pads
  12. Looks the same as G6 to me
  13. I like this new version. I use the inner flap for both my knee and upper calf straps on G6 but I can see how the inner flap would be annoying for those who don't use the upper calf strap at all.
  14. And that is exactly why I love the warrior. NME and Bauer helmets in general have never fit me that great. Previous ccm buckets didn't fit me well either but XF fits pretty nice
  15. Interesting to see them abandon the internal flap and just make the sling wrap calf strap have velcro on both sides so the knee strap can just go over it. Probably cheaper and easier than making the internal flap removable for people who don't want to use the sling wrap calf strap. Considering how I wear my knee strap on g6 I'll probably remove the sling wrap strap on g7 because the new style lower calf strap does what my sling wrap does now Love the texturing on the graphic. It's also worth noting that pro is replacing the e+ line not pro+ Overall a very promising looking set imo
  16. Sometimes I try to be. I'm just happy to be playing games again after months
  17. My new junior team decided they wanted to give me a test run playing with their lower team for a game. I recorded a .968 on 63 shots against and had a secondary assist on our only goal for. I have now been moved to the higher team lol
  18. I have no idea how I got in on this as well but I'll take it. I try to keep my gear up to date and I guess that helps a good bit and playing a decently high level of hockey it's a very good test of just how well products hold up over time. My konekts and sticks are good examples...
  19. These are not konekt 2s these are konekt that I dyed the holder black on. Konekt 2 should have slightly improved buckles though the bigger issue in my opinion remains present. Whether or not air france pays for my ccm skates I will be keeping them and switching to them over konekt in the off season.
  20. Konekt 2. I claim partial credit for bauer switching to black holders on the new model
  21. Might be worth a shot as springy as pad cores are now
  22. Most pads are too stiff or springy to hold curve just by being stored upside too. My G6s haven't really gotten the curve I'd hoped they would
  23. Don't have a picture but oettinger has switched to HL2 strapping on his pads
  24. The 615 blocker style was introduced on the 7X3 intermediate blocker and moves the sidewall to the edge of the blocker, similar to ccm, instead of being offset inwards like the 605 and 595. Supposedly it changed the cuff and thumb piece too but I couldn't see any noticeable changes in the pictures As for the Brian's gloves I know nothing officially but the blocker looks to be aimed squarely at the Supreme line and this could be the rumored brians 580 but I doubt it since Delia's using it and he's used optik/600 forever
