  1. That's correct. I tried to submit an order the other day and was told I would have to wait for the G7's. I was told the G7 customizer will launch next week.
  2. So a nagging injury to my left arm that makes catching pucks extremely painful and really bad carpal tunnel in my right hand that causes it to go numb within minutes of holding my stick, not to mention an ongoing frustration with playing the puck on my "unnatural" side, has got me seriously considering going full right. Has anyone made this switch or at least tried it with good results?
  3. Thanks for the help guys. Much appreciated.
  4. Couldn't find any US retailers, but here are some Canadian retailers assuming you have the newer Vertexx Edge holder: https://www.hockeylion.ca/products/stepsteelgoalieedgefat https://www.crowssports.com/products/step-steel-fat-max-bauer-vertexx-st-edge-goal-steel https://www.thegoaliecrease.com/product/step-steel-for-bauer-vertexx-edge-trigger/ The Step Steel Fat...that's what I was thinking of. Thanks!
  5. So I'm looking to get back in net after a few years off and I'm wondering if there are any current options to get a 4mm runner in any of the newer cowl-less boots? I remember Step used to make a 3mm to 4mm runner, but I can't seem to find much of anything out there now. I was always a Bauer skate guy due to fit and profile, so is my best bet to try and find an older pair of Reactors? Shortly before I stopped playing, I did try a pair of Vapor 1X with the 3mm runner and was not a fan. After 3 ice times with them I could not seem to adjust at all.
  6. Glad I found this thread, was just about to post asking where all the old guys were at...lol. I've been out since right before Covid and looking to make a comeback @ 42. It won't be my first comeback, but I know it will be the hardest as I haven't touched ice in over 3 years and when I turned 40, everything seemed to head downhill fast. Covid has really made me lazy and I feel like right now I miss hockey more than anything and need it as a motivator to care more about my nutrition and fitness. Not that I will play competitively, but we all know how a shitty performance gets us thinking about what we can do to be better.
  7. Happened to me several years ago. I had to wait until I was healed up before I could skate again. I couldn't seem to fit anything inside the boot of my skate and I lost quite a bit of stability during the 3 month healing process, so I needed some rehab as well.
  8. Might want to try a pro level pad going forward...they typically last longer
  9. bending happens...however I'd definitely take issue with broken welds..that's a safety issue and is typically warrantied against by most manufacturers as a defective product. The cage should dent on impact but also should stay together.

I think that was just a personal move by that goalie. These look like any other bungee toe tie system out there now. I've been looking into these quite a bit over the last couple days and they appear to be very Optik like in design

too small for me, I had to go up a size in stock to get the best overall size but then would be slipping off the bottom of the knee stack.

Not in my experience. I've had G3's, GT's and G4's in 33+1.5 and have had P2's and EF3's in 33+2. Definitely a difference for me with the CCM's being a little taller. I went with the +2.5 because I also had a set of G4s in a 34+1.5. The overall size was perfect, but they were just a little too tall in the knee. A 33+2.5 should have the overall size I got from the 34+1.5, but with the appropriate knee sizing.

    Mine just went in yesterday.

I feel like the G4 is the same way
  15. I've had 2 fusion and 2 Bauer 961's. Couldn't tell a difference between the two and from what I understand they use same mold, materials, etc... They are legit pro masks. As far as NHL quality...no idea what that means, nor do I think that matters. The NME10 was being worn in the NHL for a while. I had one of those and the chin cracked from a mid-level beer league wrist shot and not just the gel coat...all the way through. The Fusion masks are a great value if you like 961 style masks. Might I also suggest OTNY as long as your in that price range. Better quality, service and custom fitting.
  16. No question that gloves and chest protectors are the most individual pieces of equipment out there. They all seem to feel different to everyone and that has a lot to do with our various sizes and shapes. I've had every Warrior glove going back to the Swagger and since the G2, they just don't feel anything like a traditional glove like the T5500 to me. Not saying they don't perform well, quite the contrary, but going from one to the other would be a bit of an adjustment for most people I think. That's the only point I was making.
  17. 60 I believe, but the G3 is never really going to feel anything like the T5500, just a completely different style of glove.
  18. I'd be willing to bet Warrior is one of the most profitable gear manufacturers out there.
  19. Michel's masks are something you order and forget about until the glorious day it arrives on your doorstep. The guy does it as his side job, so I've never worried about the timeline, just trust that I'm going to get another awesome mask within the year...lol. 22 weeks is average for him and well worth it in my opinion.
  20. Padding is recommended to be replaced every year by most manufacturers. I dont see why the shell would breakdown, but Michel himself would be the best resource for your questions. I honestly dont think he would steer you wrong.

That definitely looks like the G4 glove. Could be they just took the finger curl out, which I think was something they did from the G3 to the G4.
  22. I went full glass and haven't regretted it. It's a solid mask. I do get slightly more ringing than in my PC, but otherwise they're pretty equal.
