Been using cowlingless for a few years now. Progression went from Graf 750s w/ Cobra Cowling to the Same Graf 750s with Bauer Vertexx Cowling... then Bauer S190... and now Bauer 2X Pro. The 2X Pro are great... but with hips & knees that are shot i can't help but wonder how much more strain I'm putting on them with all the new fangled height. Consequently I'm looking to build a hybrid similar to what @SaveByRichter35 did below. Why not just get a new custom set of AS3 or something? Well 1) That's not as fun as building a franken-skate 2) The 2X actually work fine... so this is just me exper
As some of you may know, I have a thing for retro looking gear. BUT, I sold my 2X Pro setup and while I can go the route of another Bauer Digi-Print set, I think Axis will be a better fit for me. While CCM has done a fantastic job of giving consumers an enormous number of options with all of the color zones, I prefer a minimalist approach to their latest graphic, and the devil is in the details for me. I want to buy a helmet that if possible won't be over $600 and something that will hold up to high-level shots and be getting hit 3-4 times a game. I've been considering OTNY and Coveted to name a couple and just need help deciding. I would also need the smallest head size possible because I'm short and tiny. Thank you all for your time!
So as some of you may be aware... I'll be taking a bit of a break from playing this summer with upcoming hip surgery... but that doesn't mean I'll be taking a break from gear. I have a new Passau Gen 2 Pro Pack on order... looking into modding my blocker for more pop... going to send out leg pads for a thigh rise shortening... and just received a new cage for my Wall mask. In taking the old bent cage off I thought I'd take the time to clean up scuffs and scratches to the OEM white paint... but then I thought maybe a chance to change things up some...
