  1. Hey all, I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new pair of 2022 Konekts for $600 CAD all in. They feel amazing. I have a 4E wide foot in New Balance sneakers and even without shims they feel great. Probably my only complaint is trying to get my ankle locked in but even when the boot is "loose" it still feels better and more stable than any other skate I've worn. This is the first skate that hasn't caused me pain, ever.

Only question I have is - what is the little grey tool that was attached to the skate for?

I've had some time to finally skate in my Px3s.  It's really a great pad, my favorite Lefevre entry to date.  The changes are small but work really well together.  If you're coming from a CCM (especially an Eflex) pad it's a very safe transition IMO.

The catch glove is going to be an underrated upgrade, they close much cleaner than the CCM versions and are much more consistent (I think I've had 3 Lefevre gloves now, all of them have felt exactly the same!).

My EFlex 1 and Eflex 4s were both specced as Game Ready D30.  This go around with Px3 I went with a Game Ready Xtra and another with a Pro Palm.  Have been very pleasantly surprised how clean the pro palm is closing

Do the Lefevre's have D3O or something similar or is it the traditional beefed up palm?

  3. History:

Growing up I was in a lot of various CCM Tacks.

My first more "modern" skate was Bauer Vapor XXX's. They latest for the longest time and they were my favourite skate.

Recently (2018) bought some Bauer One.9's. Also first time in step steel. They really felt like I was on my heels a lot and I worked with my LHS to pitch them a bit more forward. I'm used to them now but still thinking about that older XXX fit.

I understand the that the older cowlings sat lower and I probably got more forward flex with the less stiff boot in the XXX's. I have also read on here that the current Bauer's are actually pitched forward (not sure if this was true for the One.9's in the Vertexx 2.0 holder) but it didn't feel like that to me.

I'm considering buying a new pair of skates and I was wondering what y'all would recommend:

    1. From this forum I assume the cowling-less skates sit even higher than what I'm used to so far. Is this true?
    2. What would be the best profiling to get the old XXX feel that I'm looking for or is it even possible?
