The G6 - and maybe the G5? had a slit in the calf so you could put the wrap through that to make it slightly tighter. My last experience was GT2, which, IIRC, did not have that option.

I noticed the pillow was removable, too! It leaves a big strip of velcro to rub on your leg/hockey sock though.

My guess is that the soft part of the velcro would be on the pad so it wouldn't catch anything when the calf pillow is removed.

  2. I had the dual density poron foam in my mask, and it was the comfiest padding that I ever used.  My problem with it was the durability, I had to hold onto the velcro for my sweatband so it wouldn't tear the poron out.  I switched to the dual density ST-N, and while it's a little firmer, the durability is much better and I've taken my fair share of head shots without any issues.

  3. I have plenty of different sets of gear, but once something becomes a main piece, I hardly stray from it.  The only real exception is I switch to a Sportmask Mage during summer hockey due to the breathability and how much cooler it is from my main Sportmask mask during the rest of the year.

...Lol. The former Oregon representative that opened the literal backdoor during a right wing protest (I think they were mad about masks or something ridiculous, not trying to make this too political) at the capitol building is a goalie in a local lower level league. His nickname/common chirp is thus, "Backdoor!"

Mike Nearman is his name, and I will be calling him that whenever I see him now.  Thanks for this.

  5. I just redid my mask with their dual density poron kit.  The padding is super comfortable, but I would recommend to proceed with caution with that particular foam kit because the poron is a very fragile foam and the velcro for the sweatband has already ripped it up in a few corners.  As far as the company, they are extremely helpful and the finish of the kit is excellent.  I don't think that you can go wrong with them and when I refurbish my other masks, I'll be using them again for sure.

This should be very beneficial. Talking with a few people who got their hands on xpg1 it was all around below average.

I got the gloves mid last year.  Blocker is solid, nothing special but overall pretty good.  Glove was a let down, sloppy construction and a terrible closure.
