Protechsport cages are also available from https://goalieparts.com/cages/protechsport/ but they might cost a bit more than getting them directly from Michel. Although I don't know what the current cost is for cages from Michel. If you hear back from him, please post his cage prices here.

I weighed my old Eddy Custom Kevlar and it was 1,467g. My Thibault mold full kevlar mask weighed 1,430g. The thing I remember when I first wore the Thibault Protechsport was that it felt dramatically lighter, probably due to the better fit and weight distribution.

My newer Lalime mold full kevlar weighed in at 1,335g so the mold that you get will make a difference in the actual weight. Fiberglass models will obviously weigh more than the kevlar ones.

Here are some photos of my family of Protechsport masks including my new Lalime mould with my now retired Thibault mould and my Roy replica.

I finally finished designing and painting my mask just in time to get back on the ice for the first time since the latest lockdown. I prefer the clean, bold, and easily recognizable style designs like they used to do back in the 80's & 90's (which conveniently aligns with my painting skills). I'm very happy with how it turned out.

The painting process was much easier this time thanks to the vinyl cutter we got last Christmas. It allowed me to not only mock-up and revise the design on the mask but I was able to cutout vinyl to use as the masking/stencilling when painting.

My currently 8 year old mask is a Thibault model Protechsport that doesn't fit me as well anymore (thanks to a healthier and more active lifestyle over the last few years) and the mask is nearing it's end of life. So I placed an order for a new one at the end of the summer and I just received my new mask yesterday, almost 7 months to the day from when I placed my order. That was about 8 weeks quicker than Michel had originally estimated which was an awesome surprise.

It's a full Kevlar Lalime mold with a Roy cage and cage clips on the side. I also ordered a spare cage and a spare set of replacement padding so that I'm prepared to do a bit of a refurbishment of everything in a couple of years.

The fit is great as expected and working with Michel is always such a pleasure. I just need to finalize the design that I want to put on it.
