  1. Haven’t been able to skate in over a month cause of my new work schedule and trying to make a team in the fall, if anyone knows a place around chicago that has evening ice times it would help a lot
  2. Hey guys, just picked up a set of eflex 3’s and had some trouble with them. My leg seemed far away from the actual leg channel when I usually have them tight and flush. The calf straps seemed tight though? Also, this is my first time connecting the strap at the knee to my calf. My knee was extremely low on the knee block when in my butterfly, and sometimes missed it completely. Would strapping across the knee again help that? Thanks for any help!
  3. Anyone in the Chicago area know a place where I can get some ice time right now? Only been able to skate a couple times in the last few months
  4. Recently picked up some heritage alite’s and have had some trouble. Part of the padding that goes around my calf keeps tucking into my skate. Would I be able to trim that piece of padding off?

    Toe Tie Slack

    Hey guys, had a quick question about my toe ties. What does slack affect in terms of sliding/butterfly pushes? I’ve never used slack and have always had good sliding ability, but I picked up a used set that had about 2 inches of slack and have been having a little trouble. Was wondering if I just need to get used to the pads or if the slack is to blame.
  6. The only thing i can really think of that is remotely different would be the toe tie, the previous owner left about 1.5 inches of slack, which I have never done with any pad in my life.
  7. I’d say my pants are normal in size, definitely not too big. If I had to guess I’d say there’s somewhere 4 to 6 inches from the top of my knee to the bottom of my pants.
  8. Hey guys, just picked up a used set of Vaughn v6 2000s (33+2). I have worn Gnetik 5.0’s (33+1) for the past 4.5 years. I used my new Vaughn’s for the first time yesterday at rat and noticed the knee stacks were pushing up on my pants and basically caused a kick to the balls whenever I made a quick leg movement. Is this just something I need to get used to to get around or is there some sort of pad adjustment I can make? Thanks

I like to stay up as much as I can because I’m not too tall (5,9), but I’m constantly working on quick foot movement in my butterfly to try and balance my skills both in standing up and going down. I just think softer pads have been extremely comfortable in moving as quickly/athletically as I can.
  10. Hey guys, I’ve been wearing Brian’s GNetik 5.0 leg pads for the past four years at a size 33+1. I recently tried Vaughn SLR pads at 34+2 and realized that my hybrid style just wont work with such a stiff pad. Should I stick with the smaller size for my playing style? What are some soft goalie pads you recommend?
