Couple questions:
1 - are Graf Peakspeeds still being made. Is Graf staying around?
2 - are there different steel options (manufacturers) for the Peakspeed skates

I purchased the R/GT2 pads and will hopefully get them soon this week. I'll provide some feedback on this thread in case anyone else is interested.

Senior. Lets just say that you wouldn't get a true S shape in them like an Eflex or Velocity.
Ok interesting. I'm not sure I will like the RGT2's - I really like the snug fit of the Vaughn pads and wonder if I'll get them feeling the same?

My GT2s are the stiffest pads I've owned so far and with my narrow butterfly, I can't see myself getting into the pro-fly stuff.
Do you have the Pro or SR pads? I only ask because the SR pads are usually not as stiff.

Haven't done the switch, but I've had the RGT2's since shortly after release.
They're going to have less flex in them at the boot and knee break, less torsional flex, and a much more cavernous leg channel that player looser.
They're fantastic pads, but they will be a departure to what you're currently in.
Thanks for the feedback.
Do you or anyone else know if the sizing will be similar?

Has anyone here gone from a Vaughn v7 34 + 2 to a Warrior RGT2 34 + 1.5? I'm debating if I'll like the switch or not. I like lots of flex in my pads.

Ah nuts, sorry!
THR is solid. I've had them do lots of light work on my stuff.
Yup the Crow's guy isn't there any more.

Hi folks, I'm looking for someone in the Whitby/Oshawa area (Durham region) who does equipment modification. I have a glove that I'd like to have some changes made. Does anyone know of someone in that area? Thanks in advance.

I ended up buying Warrior 3XYZ E+.... Sorry, the new naming of the Warrior gear drives me nuts. Anyhoo I have a game tonight and will report back.

I haven't use non of them (3rd pair of Warriors and no changing brands anytime soon) but I saw the CCM review somewhere and the guy said that screws on the hinge is right where you land your knee and after some time you start to feel that and hurt yourself on that. The author of that review add some foam over there but not everyone want to do that.
Weird - never experienced the issue with the knee hinge screw that is there. Just the bulkiness.

Found a store with the Bauer's in stock and I thought that they were almost as bulky as the CCM's. I don't see it being worth the switch. Going to have a look at the Warrior Pro's to compare next.

The ccms are much bulkier from what I remember
Yeah - they are super protective but bulky. It looks like the Bauer Pro's are protective but not as bulky? I haven't seen them in stores lately due to supply issues that everyone is dealing with.

Currently using the CCM Pro knee pads (CCM Pro Senior Goalie Knee Protector (hockeymonkey.ca)) and thinking about switching to the Bauer Pro knee pads (Bauer Pro Senior Goalie Knee Guards (hockeymonkey.ca)).
Does anyone know if the Bauer knee pads are as bulky or same size as the CCM?

PM me if you want a section. Give me the dimensions for one and I will cut enough for two,

I still come here often, but I no longer have all the contacts I had in the goalie gear business, so I don't have much to add to discussions. I'm into making comic books now, it takes a big chunk of my time.
You still playing?

Thank you.
He will likely be expelled from the league. He was already suspended for this last season. I should hear the results of the decision soon.
The crew who runs this particular league take safety very seriously because it's a draft league so we have a mix of skill levels from very low to very high, age range 40s-70s.
There should be zero tolerance for this in rec/beer league. And with so much video as in your case, leagues can't afford to ignore it.

Sorry to see/hear this happened to you. Hope you are ok.
I've noticed that this sort of play happens at least once a game in beer league. Guys seem to think it's ok to just cut through the crease and run you over like it's a normal hockey play...
IMO this type of play should be an automatic suspension.

Here is the image. So I have broken in my glove, but it’s broken in weirdly. I don’t know how to fix this but if any of you do please haha. The bottom is blocking it from going farther
Do you know which palm it is - ie pro, practice, game? I've seen practice palms that you could not close due to how much extra padding is in it.

18 hours ago, CJ Boiss said:On the topic of Step Steel, my understanding is that the brand has since been binned after being bought out by CCM. The blades are now being marketed as JRZ Pro Steel, and JRZ is manufacturing them in Canada, with Canadian steel. Blades with the black coating (whatever Step Blacksteel were) should be available in the next few months.
Is there a link? Are we talking about the same JRZ goalie equipment manufacturer?

I really like the Future Pro videos on YouTube and this one in particular is good for this topic:
Alternative to all white or all black for multiple teams

silver is a good option - fairly neutral. or go old school brown color
