I have worn GT 35+ G4 35+ 1&2S Large 35+1 but with the vapor I wore a large and due to it's design of the knee block being smaller I slip down/off the knee block and would prefer a medium.
Interesting, I am a 35 Warrior and CCM. and 36 fits me perfect for Bauer and Brians.

Own a protechsport mask & it out performed anything i ever used by far. It the basic fibreglass version & no chips ,cracks or ringers ever.
I got it wrapped Thibault stlye & love it. It's the Roy mold & I used this for 7 years. I've changed out the padding in it every 12 months.
I also change the harness, but all those things are maintenance issues.
This is the tank of all tanks.Never hurt wearing this mask & believe me I had plenty of hard slappers to the head.
Very light, but for the price of $300.00 Cdn , you are getting the best.
Where did you get that wrap done? Looks great.

It’s 100% possible to make a quality product over seas.
I respect and support you wanted to buy local, but something doesn’t add up here?
One of the common complaints about Bauer masks since switching to being made in China is how flimsy they have become and how you can easily compress the sides in compared to their Canadian made counterparts of the past. While I agree China made products can be good, I don't think the disappointment of China made Bauer goalie masks is all that unwarranted.

This relates to this thread, here are some differences I found between the Bauer 1X demo set and the 1X retail set.

I went on the ice yesterday, the straight pad is no good! Even with a break. Can't close my 5hole properly. Unless you are made of rubber band haha I was very much tired after say 40 minutes on the ice due to how stiff they were and the extra energy I took out.
The speed skins do make you slide better which changed my mind before I order my pad at the end of the month, I will get the bottom in speed skins.
I didn't feel them to be that much lighter on the ice, maybe the stiffness had something to do with that lol. I will for sure go with a pre-curve, single inner no outer.
I'm guessing you haven't seen any of my videos on my super stiff/like a board Warrior G2s? haha

Stright pad with 1 inner 1 outer roll...put it on at home and can't close my 5hole lol so tomorrow experience may not be fun on the ice haha
Ah, I went with the precurve and single inner... but looking at those I almost wish I went straight like that.

Finally adding a bit of colour. Hard to do when trying to match different teams.

I've heard from people that the speed skins are just a gemic, has anyone used it and can totally say that it didn't annoy the crap out of them? I slide great with my P1s. The NHL doesn't;t use it.
Plus having them at the bottom of the pad means that a piece of it would be at the bottom front of the P2, I'm going with 1 generic black colour it may look weird, partial speed skin partial regular.
It isn't a gimmick. The colours are really close to standard jenpro colours if not identical so it shouldn't look that weird from far.
Below is my review of the Eflex 3 pads, I could easily tell the difference of the speed skin.

Back on the P2 talk, I have seen the pad myself and I don't know about you guys but the speed skins to me make the pad look cheap looking at it...I don't know if the materials or what have you, looks almost like a cheap toy made in China. I think I'm leaving the speed skins out!
Just use it for the sliding surface then, it is worth it.

Isn't that the foam on the 1S protective for player gear? Aka styrofoam.

Obviously they probably aren't really in a position to be under enough stress to break but I'm seriously considering getting the glove and blocker and I wanted to ask this first.
Not that it totally answers your question. But I am pretty sure the BOA system has a lifetime guarantee, which should be replaced for free if they were to break.

But it's actually not grey! It's their "metallic silver" colour. I fell in love with it when I saw some sets made with it on their IG page.
I tried my best to match them with my old rep hockey jerseys, but didn't want to add TOO much red or black as I play with a lot of teams and don't have one set jersey colourYou're in Niagara right? Did you have Warriors a few months ago?

8 Weeks? Wow I wish that was even close to what my 1X took...

If you look at the part I pull out, that part ends up being behind those flaps.

I was told to post this video here as well.

I am being sincere about this product...
Unfortunately from the pics and product description, I am missing some of the info that could potentially get me excited or better appreciate it.
there’s a lot of excitement it seems, could someone who will be purchasing let me know what they like about it that is inspiring their purchase?
I like the Kevlar portion and Maltese in it. Looks like a Vaughn jock with nice materials (Kevlar and Maltese), but it is too expensive for me to take a look at it and my Warrior cup has been great so far and I'll just wait for V3 of that.

Both are basically identical.

I actually do like the orange on orange. My only complaint on the look of 1X pads (and 1S for that matter) is a lack of options for base. Comes in any color you want so long as it's white. Justin Fazio's latest 2S set is a reminder of how good they could look if Bauer had more color zones. In time I suppose. Great looking gear though.
I don't mind the look, but since it isn't what I ordered I don't really want them. If I wasn't going to get a black/orange set I would've ordered red/blue and for my Optiks in White/orange/black.
2 hours ago, coopaloop1234 said:I understand what you wrote. But for someone who has a major concern about matching and is willing to drop serious money to do so, padskins is an easy enough way to go about it.
And that set looks fine, you just seem overly picky.
The problem to me is, if you are willing to drop the money you shouldnt be stuck with pad wrapping the gear. I also think that set looks really cheap, and I wouldn't want my top end pads looking like that.

Believe that is that same knee pad Niemi uses, which would be a Vaughn that isn't offered at retail.
