  1. If I could jump in on this and compare my stuff

G5 Pro Pads: 35”+1, Pro stiff core, single internal break, single external break. Standard strapping over the knee and extra tight thigh strapping. Removed standard toe strapping and replaced with skate lace, standard bootstrap which goes under the boot.

G5 Pro Blocker: Large palm, medium palm placement, extra tight internal strap, loose half cuff, really nice soft palm.

G5 Pro Glove: Game-ready, single-T, skate lace pocket, modified internal foams by slicing them along the break, modified T to make floating (Absolute black hole). 75 or 600-degree break, tight internal strapping around fingers and thumb, loose cuff over the wrist. Stored in my bag with lacrosse balls inside the pocket and tied tight to keep closed. (Keeps the glove really loose and broken in and opens up the pocket)

Ultrasonic Stick: 26” paddle, squared paddle, P34 curve for better shooting and stickhandling, Buttendz tip of the knob with standard tape for the rest of the knob. No tape on the grip area, thick white tape from high heel to full toe.

Bauer NME IX Mask: Custom wrapped, straight bar cage, Open backplate straps. Dangler attached to the cage.

Victory V6 Mask: White Base, white bar cage, custom width, Regular backplate straps. Dangler attached to the cage.

Bauer 3s Pro Skates: Still breaking them in, Tyden steel, SPRY-J Profile on blades, usually use a half-inch cut.

CCM Premier Pro LE Chest: Absolute tank of a C&A, untucked and extremely tight around waist and arms, with shoulder floaters out wide and squared off for taking up extra space for blocking

CCM Premier 1.9 Pants: Pretty basic, fit well with the C&A and overall just really good goalie pants.

Other additions: Warrior G5 knee guards (came with the set), Bauer supreme 2S neck protector, Vaughn V9 Cup and Nike pro tights and shirt.

  2. I actually use a golf glove, or cotton glove, so that way they stay mobile but just stay in better, I know my goalie partner just soaks his hand before practice or games, and he says it just helps his hand stay in better

    I use the lundqvist method:

  3. My set just arrived at Majer Hockey today

Pads: 35+1 extra stiff core, single external break

Glove: 75 degree break, single tee, black skate lace

    Blocker: Stock

All black and primary logos black as well

I don’t have my 34” pads anymore but I can show a comparison of my G4 35”+1.5” and my new G5 35”+2” if ya want.

That would be super helpful do you a have extra stiff core or a regular, just because then it would maybe show a extra bit taller

  5. Since I dont have my pads get, I am really waiting to compare the sizing because I realized the bauer pad conversion was wrong, so I have large bauer pads which are actually 35+1 so I basically got the same size pad but because of the stiffness and different breaks I think the warrior g5 will still be taller

I have very long legs considering my height so while im only around 5' 11 my legs fit the 35 size

I also ordered 35+1 and my old pads which are bauer 1s are a bauer large, and they fit well but are a bit small, so theoretically should be only half an inch smaller but I wear my pads low and tight

If you use the sizing chart for the g5s I should actually be wearing 36 however I think that would be way too big because of the thigh rise

So I am still growing, being under 18, and I have a projected height which is somewhat accurate, I should be around 6' 3" so I wanted the pads to last,

I also think that because of growing by the time I really get used to them the 34s might be too small, as I am already too tall for the 34s, my leg measurements are 22" Floor to knee and It should be around 8-9 inches above my knee

I’m 5’11” and I wear a 33+1.5 very comfortably (no boot strap knee strap down to calf) how on earth are y’all in 35s??

Just did some carpet flys and they already feel good and close up the bottom of the net really nicely.

Glad I went with 34 my knee is already landing a little high with knee pads on bit I like it. If I went with 33 like was suggested and from warriors measurements the pads would be too small.  Also thought that warrior included a carrying strap for the pads?  No big deal they already threw in some knee guards.

How tall are you, just asking, because Ive seen how the warrior pads sizing are kinda wonky, I ordered 35+1 and am around 5'11

One came loose half way but that was my fault really. Will adjust but the rebounds off these pads was awesome.

How was the sliding, especially later in the practice?

  10. I think instead of prolaces I might go a bit old school and just use laces, probably easier to fit through the holes and wont rip, and I'm used to laces instead of prolaces having used both this year.

Those are sick!!, how long did it take you to get them?

Yeah man I was shocked as was told they would be ready on 15th of June but Warrior would be shipping them to Germany instead of Air so look to have them second week of July then they turned up at Warrior U.K. today so happy days

Do you think that because of being in the UK it was faster to get them because of the closer proximity from the factory to the UK instead of Canada or the US?

Ya that’s what I was thinking on how it works. Maybe it takes the person making the pad longer to do separate colors but pretty quick if the pads are one solid color. Cut everything from one roll and be done with it vs having to cut several  pieces from different colors.

they could of also like you said missed the production batch. Like they make X amount of pads a week and his snick in to that batch.

I ordered all black g5s a little over 5 weeks ago and because of the all black I was told I should get them in around 7-8 weeks, but i dont know if that really true

This is what I imagine he said, I didn't have a photo so I photoshopped it, if the washers are glued on like this I guess this can help the material last longer

Really there's no reason to not use Warrior's system until it wears out.  I've used the Warrior elastic, Brian's original Smart Straps and a couple different bungee ties.  At the end of the day there are really no significant differences between how the bungee ties and the Warrior system function.

I ordered them and I heard from a friend that they used washers around the laces to tie them on, so you loop the laces through the 2 small holes and put washers on to help make sure it lasts longer, then there is less stress on that tiny little space between the 2 holes and it cant rip or stretch the leather

Toe strapping system will be the same as the G3, GT1, G4, and GT2 lines. It's the same ARS straps that do quite well.

Attaching Pro Laces to them is fairly easy as I've done that to both my GT1 and GT2 sets. The ARS that come with the pads are great though, but they can feel snug in comparison. Prolaces does relive almost any tension you'd feel.

would you recommend screws or laces to attach?

  17. I just ordered the G5's a couple of weeks ago, if anyone has them yet can someone share a picture of the toe strapping system, i'm switching from CCM to warrior and I want to know whether I should get pro laces or if I can put pro laces on at all.
