Most interested in the fit improvements. I've been hesitant to get a pair as I have a high instep/depth and wide EE usually and only TRUE has worked so far.
Really excited for these but YUCK the all black lookI have a EE foot and the konekts fit like a dream. Easily the most comfortable skate I’ve ever worn, and that’s including a pair of custom Trues.

How does the Iconik sizing compare to the Brian’s sizing chart? I’m 19” ATK and the chart says 36, but was advised to get a 35 when I looked at the Gnetik V.
I’d say it’s pretty good. I have a 17.75 ATK and fit well into a 33+1.5 Gnetik V, but those were known to fit large due to the boot bump. They eliminated it in the Iconik. The 33+1.5 Iconik felt a hair small, which fits with their size chart.

Another update after putting a few more skates on the Iconiks for anyone thinking of ordering a set.
the leg pads definitely fit smaller than Gnetiks, by about a half inch to a full inch. I was in a 33+1.5 Gnetik V and I’m wearing the same size Iconik and it play’s noticeably smaller.

My local store doesn't have a demo set of Iconiks yet but I've played 7 games with the Optik3's and 1 game in some Hyperlights. Curious enough that I'll probably wait to try them out however every Genetik pad I've tried I hated probably due to weight. My current pads are pro stock zero g's with sub-zero boots and they are 5lbs each. Optik3 are 5lbs and these hypers I have are 4.6 lbs. Is the sliding that much better than the optiks?
I like the idea of the knee stack being double laced/more anchored in the pad.
The sliding is honestly better than any pad I’ve used. It was insane. Actually made it difficult to play with. Maybe it’ll calm down as the pads get used.
I really like the knee block. Definitely an improvement on the Gnetik, as is the weight of the pad.

This is a 3rd line of gloves that isn’t replacing anything. The glove is Brian’s 580.

Have had a chance to get a set of Iconiks on the ice a few times, thought I’d give some feedback.
pads: similar to Gnetik Vs but noticeably lighter. The sliding on them is insane, probably the best sliding pad I’ve used (compared to V10, V9, SLR3, Optik 3, Gnetik V, PX3). The flex is nice, and the strapping is great and super simple. I removed the professor and boot straps, so all it is is toe ties, one calf wrap strap, and the knee strap. Overall solid improvements on the Gnetik V.
glove: very comfortable and light, great closure, but I just can’t get used to the break angle on Brian’s gloves.
blocker: also very light and comfortable. Rebounds though we’re not as hot as I’d hoped but not terrible.
all in all they made some solid improvements, not really anything bad to say except the sliding was almost too much at times and was hard to control occasionally.

It's under one of their Canadian domains.
I don't want to just link it, since I rather not ruin the fun/get rid of any connections I have. Thus, I'll put a couple screencaps of the more interesting bits (not for the PX4) here. For other brands, I'll usually troll their website meta-data to see any pages that have no links directly to them (example here: https://www.goalies-only.com/hello-world/).
Aww no fun.
was there any info about a new catalyst line?

I am pretty sure it only came out like a week or two ago at most.
Where did you find the new catalog?!

Nice man, you're gonna fit in very well with us here, then. I'm in Bauer now but I've had custom V1, V4, V6, VE8, and V9 sets. Lifelong Vaughn user.
Nice. in the past 3 years I’ve had custom Gnetik Vs, Hyperlites, PX3s, and now this. Stoked how the set turned out, it’s my first retro brown set.

I'm not saying you didn't order the XP70, just that it looks like they messed up. The entire shape of the glove looks off from the XP model. I guess maybe they could have started with the V10 build and then built the break to be more like 70*? It doesn't really look like it in this case, but that's more or less what they did with the XP70 versus the original 60* version.
Is the set in your hands yet or still on its way from the dealer?
It’s still being shipped, but I’ve got a close relationship with my dealer who checked out the set for me and said everything was as ordered. Guess I’ll find out in a week or so

Negative, see my other reply but basically asked Vaughn to make an xp70 with as retro look as possible, as I really just wanted the break angle as I’m a 580 user.
And this is a V9 glove, Vaughn wasn’t doing custom graphics on the V10 when I ordered it 6 months ago lol.

Awesome looking set, congrats. And welcome to the forum. Is that your first custom set?
Isn't the board on the XP gloves usually flat too? The normal Velocity gloves have the curl like yours does @Toobs. Was that an option for you as well?
Thanks! I’ve been a lurker here for a while, finally decided to make an account.
Sadly not my first custom set, I’m a bit of a gear whore. First Vaughn custom set since V5s in 2011 though. With the glove, I really only wanted the break angle of the XP70 as I’m a 580 user, but felt like the XP look didn’t mesh as well with the retro look, so asked Vaughn to make an XP70 look as retro as possible and this is what they came up with.

The XP gloves do not have a laced-in break, that glove does. It's probably either an SLR3 glove or a V9 two-piece glove with the appearance of a solid cuff.
Nope, had that added as a custom option. This set was top to bottom customized.

Beautiful, but that's not a XP70 glove.
It is, it’s the V9 version

The definition of a custom skate and its conception?

You could look into konekts… they accommodate up to EEE but mold to your feet during the fitting process. I have super wide forefeet and they’re the first skates I’ve had in years that haven’t hurt my feet.
