I would say they are generously sized. I felt that 7.5 was almost large on me, but I have a funky to fit heel.

So you would say they have a wide fit? Just asking as they don't seem to have a separate regular or wide. And then length wise was wondering if they fit like ccm or bauer as bauers I am in 10.5 instead of 10?

    Why the hate for Binnington?

Anderson is with the Capitals as their 3rd/Taxi goalie (right now he is the backup because samsonov is in AHL to get a rhythm going

Mostly I feel he is overrated and overhyped.  Something about him just rubs me the wrong way.

Cool to learn that about Anderson.  They pick him up once Lundquist opted out due to his heart condition?

  3. Halak - Bruins - playing really good so far.  I'm a B's fan so I've seen him play a bunch.  Best tandem in the league in my humble opinion.

Bishop - Stars - think he's injured though?

Binnington - Blues - don't care. Don't like him. Hope he sucks.

Anderson - not actually sure if he ended up anywhere after Ottawa.

Miller - Ducks - saw a highlight of him making a sweet glove save in his iceberg Vaughns.

    Salo - Swedish jail.

  4. Was definitely a Brian's/Heaton family playing the 90's.  Mostly Brian's to be honest with the pads, gloves and chest protectors.  Both myself and my older brother had Brian's for all of those pieces but we did rock Heaton pants that had built in knee pads and jock as well.

Recently had a mint pair of Heaton 10's that were top notch as well.  Will always have a soft spot for the equipment back then with their beauty.

I have a large arms/large body Passau off-the-shelf unit. It is the snuggest Large-size chest protector I have ever owned in every dimension. The Passau is loosely based on the old Vaughn VP5500, fwiw. If I bought it over again, I'd go with XL arms, L body with 2" belly extensions. I've played in leagues with former heavies, and never thought I needed the Pro Pack, but I don't mind feeling the puck. The great thing about the Passau is that you know your ribs are protected. The velcro holds up way better than you expect. I don't like the non-segmented floaters. The package as a whole is very, very good and fairly mobile. The elastic isn't really gonna loosen up, in my experience. The whole thing took some getting used to.

I've stopped using mine in favor of a heavily modified pro-return Vaughn V3. I did the mods myself, so its like a custom C/A.

Okay, something just to get used to then.  When I first put it on after doing some adjustments I was disappointed as it felt it didn't fit but after some other adjustments and putting it on with my pants it's all good.  Even the extended length will be more for comfort as it overlaps the top of the pants when  standing straight and when crouched in stance there is no space.  I'm also in the process of losing some weight so it will get better as my gut gets smaller lol.

  6. Just received my new XXL passau!  The quality on it is amazing.  Was hoping it would be a bit bigger then it is as it fits snugger then my xl Brian's Bstar.  I think part of it is on me though as I wore my other one quite loose and I'm just not used to the snuggness.  Find the belly a bit short, but just ordered the extender to solve that issue.  My question is, the straps from the back plate that connect to the front sides seem a bit short and tight.  Did it take long for them to loosen a bit during break in?

Agreed. Been wearing their pants for 20 years or so. Owned their 870 c/a on 2 separate occasions. Could of owned the 890 used but it felt small on me.

    Can't go wrong with them.

One thing I noticed when I ordered my pants is that they are very accommodating so if you had any questions or requests for it they would probably be able to do it.

So hard to find reviews on their gear on the web. They don't post any of their own, whether article or video

Agreed.  From experience though, I believe one thing you don't have to worry about with them is quality.  My local shop carries low quanity of McKenney gear and I was able to score a great glove set on clearance.  Best set I've ever owned.  So when I was looking for pants, I was happy to see I could get a pair from them for a great price.  Haven't been able to wear yet because of lockdowns but the quality again is great.  Chest protectors are hard though.  Fit means so much to those.  The quality could be great but if the fit isn't right it's hard to buy sight unseen especially without others reviews or videos.

Anyone had a chance to see up close or even try on or test the new XG1 c/a? Feedback?

Never had a chance to see it in person.  I was thinking about getting it but went with a Passau instead.  It looks top notch though.

@Drew37 out of curiosity I have two questions. How much do the pants you ordered weigh and was there anything else in the box. Shipping label says the box is 8lbs for size small pants

Not sure about the weight as I never checked it.  Had some packing fill and cardboard sheets in there as well.  It just gave me a flat shipping rate so I never paid attention to that.

Ah glad I checked. Hopefully they use anything but U.S. mail or it'll never get here. I'll probably call within the next day or so since I don't have school tomorrow or Wednesday. It amazes me how small the order numbers are!

Mine were shipped by Canpar.  Not sure if they ship through them for international though.

Nearing the two week mark (order placed on the 7th), not a word from Mckenney on the progress of the pants. For all I know they could be here tomorrow...

    ...or next month.

Not sure where you're based @Drew37 but I would think shipping to Wisconsin wouldn't take too long. True didn't have any issues sending skates back and forth from the Dells to Canada.

I am in Northern Ontario, so only about 4 hours away from them.  I never heard from them as well so I contacted them and was told they were to be shipped the next day and then I got them the day after that.  Shipping over the border right now is a crap shoot.  Some things I've gotten quickly, some took forever. I would contact them and check in with your order number.

Just looks like you're wearing some Chris Osgood pro-returns.

Pretty sure Osgood could fit in just one pant leg too lol

Is there an upcharge for nonstandard nylon colors and adding stripes? I'm pretty interested in these, for the price it seems like a great deal.

I wasn't upcharged for requesting a bigger size then was listed either.

  14. 1 hour ago, ThatCarGuy said:

Hope so! Hoping stripes, +1 length and the use of white nylon don't slow it down too much. Out of curiosity what size did you order? Those look huge!

4xl.  I'm a big guy and 3xl would have probably worked but they are able to go up a size larger then they list and I've never had a pair I could actually wear a bit loose so I went for it.  Bigger in person then I thought they would be actually but I tried them on with all my other stuff and they don't inhibit any movement.

Sweet they’ll get here just in time to head back to Texas

And that was with the holidays in there so you might get a even faster turn around

  16. This is what I've been using the past year.  First bag I've had thats big enough to fit my pads into as well.  Couldn't care less about the wheel argument as its way more convenient for me.  Although I did love that scene in Letterkenny this past season which is being filmed funny enough in the rink I grew up playing in Capreol, Ontario.  If they moved the camera to left you'd see old team photos from back in the 80s and I'm in one of those when I was in tykes.

Exactly. Unless you have a pro trainer taking care of your gear or play on professional ice rinks where the ice conditions are pristine. If it's just a shell though, that could work. Easy to wash.

And I was worried where the stains would end up.  With my luck it would look like I crapped my pants lol.

I never understood getting the white pants. That will get so dirty so fast.

When I ordered mine I thought about going white because when they were new I knew they would look great but then didn't because they would lose that shine so quickly.  Went with all red with white logos instead.
