1. I can definitely see how a removable/replaceable liner would be beneficial to you.
2. lol wtf. I've had some liners that have seen wear and tear after 4+ years. But nothing close to needing replacement. Do you just sweat pure acid?

I have Hyperlite. You shouldn’t need 3M tape for sliding edge

Same as Trav uses. I'll have to look into a 20.1 or 20.2 set once my current Bauer/Warrior mashup breaks down.
You should read Chenner’s post on L20.2. Good info there and also breaks down all the updates.

Awesome!
Maybe the performance problems with my glove were due to the difference in quality between senior and pro-level stuff. It's good to hear that modern Lefebvre gloves are doing better than the old ones. Hopefully their full right gloves are also good.
I’m Full Right. 580 break, God’s break

The only break in my game ready L20.1 required was running hot kitchen sink water inside and outside the glove for 1 minute each. If it sits too long between games and feels stiff, I’ll run the water on it again. Too easy

Chenner…
Solved the issues on my 20.1. Dennis from Factory Mad made me a rigid nylon Velcro strap to replace the elastic knee block stock strap. Increased stability with the floppy knee block, keeps the pad face from leaning forward or flopping down in a slide and eliminates the boot break gap
Sliding and responsiveness improved drastically. $20 for the straps. I highly recommend this mod or ordering the behind the knee leather strap. Awesome customer service from Dennis

My Bauer Hyperlite and Lefevre 20.1 are both outstanding gloves.

Thanks Chenner. I’ve had to mess with the strapping a lot on the pad. The knee blocks are a lot more floppy on the 20.1s than anticipated.
if I was to reorder them again I would opt for the leather strap behind the knee to prevent the pad face from leaning forward.
-
Is the sliding edge in front of the knee block on the 20.2 completely squared out or does it angle like the 20.1?
I think this is what causes the 20.1 to lean forward.

I applied the 3M tape on my Lefevre L20.1s. I ordered them with the Weave on the sliding edge. Before the tape I was having issues with sliding and getting the strapping dialed in to prevent under rotation of the pad. I also experienced the pad face flopping down to the ice while starting a slide which was very odd. My Bauer Ultrasonics flat out perform better.
skated in a pick up scrimmage on Monday night and the tape works. Quick sliding and I don’t feel like the pad is working against me. Long and easy slides with gentle pushes. I do wish the Lefevre’s had Bauer’s integrated knee block for better overall stability.

Any specs on the Mach that can be shared/hinted at yet?
TGN mentioned wearing a mixed Hyperlite/Mach set in the Hyperlite Glove and Blocker review

Okay was curious. I know I land just a smidgen below centre on my 32. Been trying them with equipment on the floor. But could be a different game once I get them in to a game. Great feel for the equipment though so far.
I went Black and Red for my colors on this set. I went Black Weave on the sliding surface
Full Right. 580 break on Glove

Great pics!
Credit goes to Rance for the pics. Those are what he sent me from the shop.
when I measured myself I was in the 33 size zone but took into account that Lefevre sits up higher and my knee hits dead center on the Bauer 2X

...or you mean the weight begins?
Hehe. That whole weight argument cracked me up. Literally...if you’re Whinging over ounces...you need to get in the gym.

Ordered a set yesterday. The wait begins.

I think you're on to something there with the pocket being laced tightly at the factories. And not tight as in the pocket doesn't shape well... more like the tension at the bottom of the T where so many lacings come together just needs to be relaxed to allow for a more effortless closure. Mine was just a single T but I ordered it with skate lace pocket and I honestly can't complain about it all. Break in wasn't much different than any other glove I used in terms of process or time... the issue I had was getting accustomed to the break angle... so nothing I could revise on it.
Ok. So are you more of a 600 break, index finger tip to Thumb tip guy?
I read your thread on your True Design Vapors. So that set is gone? Damn

I would argue that what is perceived as a "reputation" is like yelp reviews... only those with a gripe post anything. I've used them for a long time and as I've posted before... never had a closure issue. I think it's entirely a feel thing. For one I'm a 580 break user... and a 580 is its own animal. Between the break angle and ten construction... you just get used to it and while it may have flaws (as all things do) you tend to accept them and eventually don't see them as flaws.
I'd probably feel the same way about your glove as you do the CCM... whether it be the break... the back of hand strapping... wrist mobility etc. It's actually the reason I sold my 2X Pro set... couldn't get used to the glove... couldn't sell it on its own... so I sold the whole set.
Did the break in on my Bauer 2X Pro and it feels great. Relaced the pocket with skate lace and loosened the double T a little and that was the last piece of the puzzle. I wonder if a lot of these companies lace their gloves too tight from the factory?
what have NHL equipment managers said on any of this?

I see Tune Fit and a calf pillow on the inside of the pad for better seal to the ice similar to what’s on the Brian’s Optik 2

Hopefully more curve options for us Full Righties

Warrior G5
in Gear
2 hours ago, Kirk3190 said:That, my friend, you'll have to wait a little longer to find out. If you look closely at the gear and think logically about what was changed from G4 to G5 you'll see it
Any change to the materials on the sliding edge?
