I just sent the Carolina Hurricanes an email correcting the fact that they said the Whalers wore Cooperalls. They wore CCMs.
Why? Bothers me to see the Hurricanes use and abuse the Whalers stuff. You steal their team then parade around in their gear? Annoying.
Picture to prove your point

Yeah maybe. I just don't remember why I had a natural colored one. I've never seen an other Koho like this after but damn I've tried. Heaton sticks were unpainted but they were breaking way too fast.

Koho twig too? Looks like a revolution one too. Nice setup.
I'm still using my Canadian made Gatekeepers. They are tanks and held up great. Canadian made gear was amazing...
It was a Koho Evolution Stick, the one endorsed by Bob Sauvé.

I swear, @MTH - you’re like my long lost brother! I saw this post and instantly recognized it from the Panini books! I still have this one (and two others). Unlike the rich kids whose parents bought them BOXES of stickers to fill their books, I was missing a few… but I got Hayward that year!
Hayward with 20 wins and 2.90 AVG, those are great numbers for the late 80's, especially for a back-up.

Those Supra pants were awesome, including the name, "Supra".
I sold them when I stopped playing after my Junior years. I'm pretty sure I'd still play in them if I'd kept them.

I generally hate mostly white gear but those are clean!!!
Me too. But when it's almost all white because it has a touch of nostalgia (like Allen with the old Brian's logo and star graphic) I may like it.

I'm working on something totally custom right now. I hope to be able to show pictures real soon. But the way I was thinking is: Making a neck-guard for those who hates neck-guards. I stopped wearing neck-guards (and danglers) when I started playing semi-pro in 2004.
It was affecting my head mobility and downward vision and I've prefer to take that risk and "playing better". But now, at the point that I am (beer leagues), I'm tired of collar bones bruises but still can't stand wearing a neck-guard. I can't stand having something bulky wrapped around my neck. So I went into a little project and get a fully custom one.
Also, my neck measures something like 21.5" and I couldn't find one that fits me in stores.

The first Koho Revolution pads! Totally hated them. Heavy, too stiff, the weight seemed unbalanced. They were just plain odd for me. Patrick Roy had his pads rebuild by Lefebvre just before the 1993 playoffs, so I think I wasn't the only one who didn't liked them LOL
Loved the Koho Revolution gloves though. -

Sharks switched to teal pants?
Yeah. Not sure if I like it or not. But I won't cry at less black accessories (helmets, pants) though. I was so happy when the Avalanche finally got it right. The black pants and helmets in Colorado always bugged me.
But I'm sad the Sharks ditched the orange accent though.

Ok, anyone with a pulse knows the top two. The bottom two I cant remember the tag team's name but one of them was Outback Jack. Pretty sure Brutis the Barber called him "Outhouse Jack".
Last night was exciting and fun to watch but geez....14 goals? Any mistake by the D or the goaler and in it went.
Anyone know the extent of Raanta's injury? Looked like a hip, knee, or hamstring.
Tonight should be fun too.
The bottom 2 guys are the Bushwhackers : Cousin Butch and Cousin Luke. They're from New Zealand and they were known as the Sheepherders in the NWA and The Kiwis before that.
Outback Jack was a different guy from Australia when WWF tried to capitalize on the Crocodile Dundee frenzy during the 80's.

Guess you and I are going to differ on that opinion. Thigh boards were terrible, I hated using them.
I did really like my thigh wraps on my V4, took a few errant pucks to the gap they have that fucking stung like crazy though.
Knee pads are functionally much better than either one and I have no issues being in them, but man, you definitely free more free in a thigh wrap.
I wasn't talking about the feel, I was talking about the protection (I use kneepads under socks). But boards were more protective than anything else, no matter if it felt right or not, that was my point.

To make sure people see better how it was working. Protectionwise, thigh boards were the best. But the NHL banned them since it was adding extra 5 hole coverage.

Not exactly a gear siGHting per se however something my sharp eye caught just a few days ago, not sure if anyone else noticed. Looks as though CCM has changed their logo, as per their website. Doesn't look as though it's on any of their current gear. It's not a very significant change from the previous one but this could signify big saving on gear coming as stores try to push out older branded gear.
They took out the speed lines from the logo. Are they trying to say that with the new CCM gear, you won't be as fast as before????? Just joking.

Speaking of 20 years later... holy Chakal siting.
I still come here often, but I no longer have all the contacts I had in the goalie gear business, so I don't have much to add to discussions. I'm into making comic books now, it takes a big chunk of my time.

Don't know if it was shown here before, but Ville Husso's mask is a BEAUTY!!!! The design even continues onto the backplate.
Simple, effective and totally matches the team's image. Red straps too, nice touch.
