Former NHL goalies in "Swiss carbon" - Hiller, Giguere.
Pretty sure Luongo was in some variation of these up until he retired

I still use the koho 589 swiss knee pads with the carbon plate removed because I love the knee padding and the neoprene calf lock so much.
Martin Jones used the same setup at one point, not sure if he still does https://sidelineswap.com/gear/hockey/goalie/accessories-other/4817977-martin-jones-custom-knee-pads

The only "special" thing on here was a request to keep the sliding edge white weave and the back panel red.
This is genius @Chenner29 I didn't even know this was possible but always hated how it looked, going to have to request this on my next set

Anybody know what material Michel uses for sweat bands?
They're a standard terry cloth. I tried one of my vogel bamboo sweatbands but went back to what came with the mask.

which padding do you like better? Thanks for the replies.
I like the black foam much better, it is much softer than the beige. if I were to order again I would go with the black foam in both.

Those look great! Would you mind giving me a couple basic measurements? I'm really thinking I'm going to get a Fichaud as my time is almost here. Maybe outside of the cheekbones measurement and at the temples. I'm a small guy and this being a small mold, I think it'll be a good fit. I didn't send a head mold this time because the fit was so bad last time I ordered one, I just took measurements this time.
Thank you.
Hey @WannabeGoalie kind of a hard measurement to get without pulling the cage but it was about 5.08" across the cheekbone pads and my head size is about 22.5", I wore a medium in a 960 and a CCM. I went with the head mold and it came out great but Michel did mention that sometimes it can be tricky. What was off with your last one? Was it too big?

Agrare,
Beautiful masks, I also placed an order and should hopefully be here Dec/Jan. How are you liking the mask overall, any issues or things you don't like? can you show a pic of the polished interior pls.
Thanks
@Hyper180 Absolutely, the first is pretty representative of the texture on the interior. Unless you are really looking for it it looks perfect. Here's the inside of the white mask for reference.
I'm extremely happy with these after about 3 months. The paint/clear-coat is holding up great there are no chips at all. I can't recommend these enough I'm sure you'll be very happy. Make sure to post some pics when you get yours.

@chile57 yeah exactly it is navy, that's the one I'll be using the most since it matches my pads and team colors. Probably be looking to get that one wrapped or just a big team vinyl logo and leave the white one as is.

Holy shit. Glad you’re alright right now though.
Thanks man, I've kept an eye out for cut resistant clothing that would have prevented it. So much of the hockey specific stuff seems to focus on the calf/achilles tendon area, IMO goalie specific cut protection should go the whole length of the calf, back of knee, and up at least half the hamstring.
Only stuff that looks like it would work would be speedskating or skiing pants but those have way more than is necessary. I still play without any extra protection, chalk it up to a once-in a lifetime freak accident (that's how statistics works right?)
I'd love to see some goalie specific cut protection with a strip of aramid all the way up the back of the leg.

What pads are you in currently and what size?
Just got an email that my True pads just got in way before the estimated date!
I was in some CCM P2 33+1", here are some side-by-side shots for comparison. They're approximately the same size, I lined up the knee blocks. Hard to do a 1:1 comparison because the boot angle is different and the 20.2s are much straighter.

My worst was 2006 in my first year of juniors someone skated over the back of my leg after I got knocked down to the ice, completely sliced my left hamstring to the bone. Was able to get back on the ice after about 6 months but the muscle has still never fully recovered.
More recently, few years ago I tore my left groin then a pretty bad sprain again a year later, I've since started taking my pre-game warm-ups way more seriously, stationary bike, stretching, foam-roller, etc... as well as some of Maria Mountain's off-ice groin strengthening workouts and knock on wood have been injury free for a while.

Which retailer did you order your set through? My order went in on March 28th but I don't think Pure had guaranteed production slots like some places did.
This was through Goalie Monkey, got one of their April production slots on March 15

I'm assuming it is to accommodate NHL size limitations, by changing the build of the pad it can fit bigger while maintaining the same technical size in inches of the pad.

Just placed an order for 20.2s through goaliemonkey yesterday, went with 32+2.5 to get a little closer to the 33+2s I'm in now. A little nervous to go with a 32" base since I've been wearing 33" for so many years but we'll see how it goes.

Got one of the April production slots from Goalie Monkey, just submitted my configuration today. Can't wait let's hope it really is 6-8 weeks.

Thanks for this @Chenner29! Planning on ordering some 20.2s when they start accepting custom orders again. Question, do you notice the 20.2 fitting differently from the 20.1 since they updated the sizing to match the 12.2s? I see you kept the same base 32" on both, basically wondering if I should stick with my normal 33s or drop down to 32s and bump the thigh rise up.

Possibly but it looks like there are three layers there, here's the stock ve8 with only two but it could just be the angle of the pictureActually I think you're right it is just the binding and the first layer making it look like two
