  1. I was looking at old pic of my favorite goalie, Olaf Kolzig and I noticed something I had never seen before. When the Heaton 10 came out, Kolzig had his own graphic called the Heaton 10k. Don Simmons was the only place I remember that sold it. Kolzig would wear that graphic for a while and even put it on the Block add pads with the 10k marking. What I didn't know until today is that he apparently had Heaton 12 on them for a short time (see last pic)! Does anyone have any more information about this?
  2. Does anyone have any thoughts about the quality and performance of the most recent offerings from Simmons and Bartram? I know there are a lot of strong feelings about business practices and copying designs but from a purely functional standpoint, how are these companies? Simmons came out with the Matrix 4 with a unique graphic that looks pretty modern. Battram looks like it was somewhat updated within the last few years.
  3. Has anyone added fake leg pad straps to their pads? Something like a decal or padskins. It seems like it would be simple and cool feature IMO.
  4. Update: I have been playing with the skates for a few weeks and I have adjusted pretty well. I like the low attack angle compared to my old skates and definitely feel taller out on the ice. Thank you everyone for your advice!
  5. I have been using Graf Goalie Pro skates (the beluga whale toe cap) for years but decided to upgrade to something modern. I now have Bauer 3S pro skates and I feel like I'm glued to the ground. I think the main issue is that the blade length extends beyond the toe in the Bauers so c-cuts and pivot/turns feel more cumbersome (I have also toe-picked during a butterfly slide which was very... interesting). Is this a something that I will eventually get used to or is there something I can do to help this? Would profiling the blade make the transition easier? Thanks for the help!
  6. Looking for Cooper/Bauer Reactor blocker. Ideally in all black or black/white but not picky about color. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
  7. Hello everyone, I'm not sure exactly how this would work but does anyone have any suggestions about increasing the "pop" of rebounds off of your pads? I have an Eflex 4 setup and I just wish the puck would fly off the pads and blocker a little better. I know buying new, stiff pads would solve this issue but I thought this would be a fun discussion. Thanks for your help!
