Even with no added knots, the TGN spec will be looser than regular pro laces.
@1C5 You may want to experiment a bit to see that works. How much slack do you usually use in your toe ties?
This helps thank you. My last set I had regular pro laces so I'll try these TGN ones with no knots first and see how that feels.

I've seen a couple videos where people put them on with no knots and I've seen them installed with 3 knots (official website).
What would be a good starting point to install them? Knots or no knots?
I've used regular pro laces before so I guess I'm asking is how should I install the TGN ones to most closely mimic the regular pro laces?

FYI, Hyperlite 1's are practically the same pad.
The 2's have an integrated calf and a slightly different strapping set up.
Hyperlite 1's will have almost the same tune fit strapping as the 1X's.
Not sure if you have any idea but since the hyperlite 1s should be great for me, what kind of price range would be a fair price to pay for a used but in good shape set? No interest in paying Hyperlite 2 prices now.

Thank you again! That helps as well!

Hyperlite 2's.
You'll get a closer stiffness profile, the flatter and softer boot, a more flexbile knee landing, and a similar strapping set up.
Machs will be a huge departure from the 1X for all the same reasons as above.
Thank you!! I'll keep my eyes open for a good deal on a set of Hyperlite 2s!

Still rocking my 1X pads but are showing their age.
In terms of Hyperlite 2s vs Mach, which ones would feel and play most like the 1X?

Got one game in with the new V1+ and it's amazing. Light yet feels solid. Super happy with it. No surprise as I liked the CR1 and this is basically that stick but improved.

Where and what was the sale?
For the next week or so sportchek has buy one stick, get one 50% off.

Finally found a good sale on these so I couldn't resist and also have 2 V1 Pro+ on the way to me to use for the upcoming season. Can't wait to try them out. I got the same black color as above in 26, Quick.

20% off at pro hockey life today for us Canadians.

Guys, huge problem. I am jealous of all these amazing V1 Pro sticks and reviews but my damn CR1s just refuse to break. They are too durable and I refuse to buy a V1 until they break as I would never use my CR1 again.
Never had this problem with my Bauers. They would be broken in a couple months at most.

Jealous of your cars? Nah (though it must be nice to be in a climate where you don't have to worry about road salt accelerate rust and corrosion)
Jealous of @SaveByRichter35's beer fridge? Hellz yeah.
True about the road salt but there's something special about playing hockey in the -20s and snow that feels like a white Christmas. Just wouldn't be the same. I play summer hockey and it never feels the same even though they are both indoors and both at the same rink.

I've got a Jeep Grand Cherokee and all my gear fits perfectly in the back.
Whenever I am new car shopping, the car will have to easily fit my gear in!

Got these pants on the way. Not sure how they'll fit as they are XL and I'm in Vaughn large now. But also I do see lots of the NHL pro returns pants seem to be XL even though the goalies are pretty skinny so they might work. Will update once I try them.
And just as a side note, I had an old pair of pro return Easton pants that I used for a decade. No stingers in 10 years. Last year I bought new spec Vaughns as I wanted a color change, and now get the odd stinger. So hopefully these older pants will give me more protection than my new Vaughns...

Big time now. I've used Pro Laces and Hal straps and much prefer Pro Laces. Customer service is top notch and the laces are amazing.

Let me know how you like the 1x pads. I've had mine for a year now and still love them.

If anyone sees any sales on 2s Pro sticks please post. I'd like to try one if I can find an ok price. I know Bauer not supposed to ever be on sale but I found a couple 1S sticks on sale during different times.

Who here is going to buy a 2s or 2s pro stick when they go on sale? I've got a couple 1s left so I'll hold off until I break them but as soon as they are done, I'll try a 2s pro.

I can't say if they will be more durable or not. Too many factors. Like level you play for example. And just plain luck or bad luck. You can have a $300 Bauer last you a week, a month or years. Just depends where/how hard it gets hit and how many times.
I've had a few 1S sticks now. First one only lasted a couple weeks before it broke. Replaced under warranty. 2nd one lasted a few months.
But saying how long they last is meaningless information as an NHL goalie could get more shots to their stick in one practice than I might get in a few weeks or even months.
As for the paddle height, just take your stick to a store that has other sticks and then you can measure what height you would want with each company.
How to install TGN Pro Laces?
in Pads
Posted
Well I tried a few different setups and with tgn with no added slack or with added slack, they were still too loose for me, causing my pad to sit too high.
So I tried a set of the Armor (no slack) I had and the pads now sit perfect for me.
