If you want a black cage, powder coat is the way to go. More durable than paint.
Thats what i though. i have a guy that my company works with about 10 min away that said he could fit it in. not sure if i am going to do it or not.

My Coveted 905 bucket came in. Big shout out to @ron@covetedmask.com for an outstanding customer service experience. His method using measurements and photos has got to be the closest you can get to full “custom” without the head mold.
Paint is matte white with a matte black powder coated cage. Pictures really don’t do it justice, I am so happy with the look. Original plan was to make a matte black vinyl cage window (probably will still try that) but I’d be happy without too.
Been wondering about powder coating my cage black. any reason why i shouldn't?

A little off topic but to me it looks like he clips Rittich in the lid with his stick on the stuff - why isn't that high sticking?
This is my position as well. not against the move itself just the circumstances around this particular goal.

I don't have a lot of extra cash for new or custom gear but I had the opportunity to do a trade with a friend who does helmet air brushing. he refurbished a helmet and did a custom paint job for a hand made axe. the lid turned out amazing. he did a memorial plate on the back for a great friend that passed and i think about every time I strap on the skates or strap into my sledge.

I'm thoroughly surprised that I'm the only truck owner so far.

I really enjoy open communication. Especially verbally berating my team for not being in shape and hacking too many darts.
That's my favourite.
@coopaloop1234I think you are my new spirit animal... i too berate my team as they shatter my stellar tendy skills as well!

Last Wednesday skate. The camera decided to hard reset while in the bag, giving us the beautiful timestamp and the 2015 date!
Effectives were very low so we ended up playing 3 on 3, which I don't specifically enjoy, especially when I have a defective D! Backcheck was practically inexistant or inefficient making it impossible to focus on the shot since I always had to account for a pass even when I had someone there. Also, I was off for some reason. Still managed a couple of decent saves in there but they mostly got bury under a hail of goals. If anybody has more experience with 3 on 3, feel free to give me some pointers, they be much appreciated.
i watched most of your vids so far and i WISH i had the d you have! i just started last year and love it but i play in the rural rec league so its a good mix of levels. i dont really have much to comment but i do enjoy watching any videos so i thought is pop in and say thanks!!

I think it’s fair to say that some pants are geared toward one or the other. Those that flair open at the top and/or have internal belts are more for those who tuck.
I am an untucker, so I prefer pants that fit tighter at the waist. Currently in CCM 13A.
Now this isn’t to say you have to tuck or untuck based on your pants. Simply that some are better suited for each. What are you wearing? both Chest and Pants.
RBK chesty and pants are ccm I believe. Flares at the top and nice to tuck in.

So I like to wear it tucked and tied because I'm afraid it may ride up. Does it matter what pants that you where or are they built to accommodate wither tucking or untucked?

The short answer is no. I mean, you don't need to spend $900+ and get the best mask on the market.
I know not everyone has the money to spend, but I'v said so in other threads and that is that the number one piece of equipment you NEVER cheap out on is your mask. Spend the $500-600 and get a decent mask.Good point I will start saving my allowance!

He offers custom foamed masks made with high quality resin and fibers starting around the same price as the big boys charge for the lexan/poly models. The trade off is wait time and having to send in a head mold. Well worth it in my opinion.
Thanks I will check it out!

Thanks punisher goalie. My next question would be, is there such thing as a good entry level helmet that is protective but yet not going to break the bank. Or is like the unicorn and doesn't exist...

No that does not look like a good price. If you just google “CCM 7000 mask” you’ll see a bunch of retailers and eBay sellers selling it new for less.
Ok thought I was just me thanks. What about the heet itself, any info?

I found a ccm 7000 sr mask of Kijiji near me. Guy said he had it for about a year and not playing net anymore. So many choices and selection out there thought I'd ask if it's worth picking up for 150?

If that's not feasible/too much with shipping/travel, I would say take a shot on the s150's. But I don't think I could argue that those would be any better or worse than any other bottom-line pad. They are all basically made for once a week casual hockey.
If they fall apart quickly, you can show your wife why you needed to spend a bit more in the first place
Boom! Thanks!!

I need a second pair for roller. I don't need the burliest pads. Was actually looking at these or the S170 or X700
The only problem is I'm on a limited budget. Plus I wouldn't know where to start as I just started in new t this year and don't even know what style I like best let alone what I like in my gear yet. Had hard enough time convincing the wife I need to buy my own hear instead of just borrowing all the time.

I found some new BAUER Supreme S150 Senior Goalie Pads and was wondering what the reviews were on it. I play about once a week rural rec hockey. They worth picking up?
