Here are some pictures, next to my set of G4's that they will be replacing. The blocker board is flatter, the glove has an insert to tilt the hand a bit. The pads are extra-stiff in the thigh, and the same size as my set of G4's (36+2). I think I'll really like the beveled cut on the back corner of the landing stack. Not sure when I'll be able to take them out for a spin, but hope to do a review when possible. Meanwhile, if there's any area where folks want to see more pictures, I'd be happy to oblige.
@jfu91 can you tell me a few things about these new G5 pads.
1. The G4 pads look to be an inch smaller, is this due to the boot being softer as you used the pads?
2. What made you decided to go from brown as secondary with G4 to black as secondary with G5?
3. Did you go with with Medium Stiff ( stock) or X-Stiff for the thigh rise?

I have been through this forum and through many websites that sell both the senior and pro G5 leg pads and want to understand the difference in internals, breaks and externals between both pads. I am trying to figure out if going pro leg pads for the G5 is worth the $700 difference. The two differences I am aware of is the Pro leg pad does not come with profile lock but does come with stiffer thigh rise with hyper comp, where the senior pad comes with profile lock and the thigh rise isnt as stiff.. If I am going to do a pro leg pad I would have to go through Monkey Sports as that is the only local shop I have in my area. I would like to know the true differences between pro and senior leg pads retro style as far as internals and any external differences. If I go pro, I would be doing a custom retro set up and wonder if there are many additional options I can do with the custom leg pads as far and internal and external changes. I have never had pro leg pads, let alone pro custom leg pads so this would be a new thing for me getting pro custom. I have initially wore P3 rebooks, moved to Bauer One90, Brians subzero 2 (Senior level), and currently in CCM Eflex 2 (senior 860). I am not sure if the profile lock can be asked to be added back to the pro custom set or if it is not an option for a reason. How much is the weight for G5 pro leg pad compared to G5 senior leg pad. I believe my current Eflex 2 Senior pads are 6lbs each...

Great information from @Kirk3190 about the G5 gear and breaking down product and mind-set behind the equipment.

Customizer goes live this upcoming monday at midnight EST. Excited to see what I can get custom on this pad (colors, weaves, and any customer options like the professor strap or getting the internal foam even more stiffer than what comes standard on custom orders and pro retail model).

Has anyone had issues with their current warrior G4/GT2 Velcro strapping? Curious if anyone has had issues and if with G5’s warrior is going to fix that. I currently have an issue with my glove on the outer cuff where the Velcro sticks but only for a short period of time and then the at outer cuff start flapping in the middle of a play. Looking at getting warrior pads but am wondering if there are Velcro issues on the pads.

Is it really 3.8lbs for the weight of the G5 pro leg pad and 4.6lbs for the weight of the senior G5 leg pad? Is that a typical difference seen between pro and step below pro from other vendors?
