Today I went into source for sports in London and tried Ccm 581 and bauers new vapor 90, the 581 felt unusable, super cheap and didn’t feel like a 580 at all. Also eflex 6 580 is a weird shape and closes terrible, sad to see such bad quality from Ccm. Vapor 90 felt great shape is a little different than Ccm/true 580 but not bad at all. Here’s some pictures

Do you have any pics of the backhand and internals? I'm curios if the Vapor 90 removed the wrist strap like Mach did.

I’m thinking about getting new knee pads, looking at the Bauer pros. I’m currently using Bauer 1x that are falling apart and where they fold the foam is completely broken so now they are really floppy. So my question is does anyone have the Bauer pros and do you guys like them are they comfortable do they have good protection? Or should I just get the elites that are the same as the 1x?

I have tried the Elites, Pros, and Supreme S18 knee guards. I personally preferred the 1X over all of them, the Elites feel like a cheap version of the 1X. The Pros are an improved Supreme S18 but I felt both were too clunky when compared to 1X.

  3. @ZeroGravitas what would you recommend for a looser fit? I saw a review of these that the tunefit plus makes the pad sit higher and feel tigher, additionally it's only attachment point is up just below the knee. I currently strap my tune fit 2.0 as loose as possible and as low as possible, also I prefer my pad to sit as low as possible as well. I appreciate any info you may have on this.

So you're having issues with the velcro coming undone at the connection points as circled below?USTuneFit.thumb.png.51aed40af75614badebda6d2932c83ad.png

I've used the pads with the professor strap a handful of times, but never had issues with it coming undone at the connection points. I've had issues with the strap loosening up over time or being too tight as to hinder rotation.

The mount is the same for Hyperlite but I believe they tweaked the strap itself... don't quote me on that.

The Hyperlite strap is better and I went to my local shop and they ordered one for me as a replacement. The Ultrasonic design wasn't terrible but I think it needed refinement as this was Bauer's first retail attempt at the professor strap.

With the Hyperlite launch, stiff options seems to be as follows:

1 - Hyperlite (X-Soft or double break? Both? We'll find out?)
    2 - Soft - 2X Pro
    3 - Mid - Ultrasonic
    4 - Stiff - 2S Pro
    5 - X-Stiff

I would agree on that assessment. Additionally I would say the "Mid" stiffness also applies to the Vapor 1X from what I have tried on.

Considering there’s been photos of vasilevskiy with it I wonder if it’s the first retail nhl spec chest

Couldn’t find the picture I wanted to find but this works

From what I have heard he is one of the easiest goalie to deal with in terms of equipment. Almost of his gear is stock, except for his skates have that wrap protection on the boot.

From at least 2S and forward the durability has been completely fine.

Agree with that statement, Cortech ST was the game changer for their durability. And what I have heard the top welting is odd looking because it prevents “wrinkle” that some of their pads get in the upper corners.
