I had been meaning to ask here anyway, so I’ll put it in this thread in the hopes that a) Someone has tried these, and; B) they could be an affordable alternative.
So - HAS anyone tried these…? The pricing is competitive, and there seems to be more options than the Canadian Tire/Sportcheck entry level. Note: this is not the Christian USA of yesteryear, makers of the Christian Curve; this is a Canadian company owned by the guy who now owns The Hockey News.
Emailed them to get some info on the helium and no response…

I am selling my Brown 2400 Chest Protector. Size Small.
Russian Spec (extra beefed up bicep caps and rib protection, segmented shoulder floaters compared to the standard 2400 model).
Fight strap attachment at the back to attach to your pants if desired.
Used for 1 year 2x per week. Always aired out and hung up after each skate. Small tear in the fabric (pictured) that I repaired.
$300 USD. Ships from Houston, TX.
What size do you wear in Vaughn?

Ordered these from Sven at RXS on 21st January and arrived today in the UK.
Coming from the PAW knee pads I was worried they’d be too bulky but after watching Dustin Smith’s (Bonsey’s) YouTube video I thought I’d take the risk.
Having tried them on (off ice) they definitely don’t feel to bulky and they fit in the knee cradle of my G5’s well.
Sizing wise they are a medium - the measurements I gave Sven were 33.5cm, 12cm below the knee and 43cm, 12cm above the knee.
Quality wise they look top notch and not a stitch out of place. Will obviously be able to update the more I wear.
Will get a chance to get them on the ice on Friday. Will update on protection when I get hit!
Any questions or further photos, let me know.
I’m going back and forth between ordering from PAW or RXS. Keep me posted once you try them on the ice. I would probably take off the plastic but not sure if the RXS warrants the price for me at least.

Thank you! I appreciate all the help!

Guys and Gals,
I’m looking for a calorie burning tracking device for playing goalie. I read a ton of articles and I’m still confused. What’s everyone using these days? -

So can anyone update how their PP1's are holding up in the long run?
After a failed attempt at getting a streamlined chestie made by Brown I put my name on the waitlist in Nov for a PP1. I saw Mike post a pro return up for sale on his facebook page, I ended up biting the bullet and buying it since the measurements were similar to my current Brown.
I'll post some pictures of it shortly.
What was the issue with the Brown out of curiosity?

What league do you play in? Honestly I would recommend the pro carbon. Vaughn has soft arms so I would opt for the top of the line protection.
-
I have tried a ton of knee guards and rotate 3. Eco Pro Foam knee pads, CCM white thigh/knee protectors and paw. I had the browns and liked the knee lift but thought it was a bit bulky and too short on the thigh.

Check out Coveted for a goalie masks. I would wear that over any big box company. For a chesty I would buy the Vaughn Pro Carbon. I have the beefed up VE8 and I’m purchasing a custom SLR2. No issues with the beefed up VE8. Brown makes a sold unit as well.

Try Kova. I have never worn one but a lot of folks like them. I myself prefer Passau gel neck guard.

I’m a goalie but I got this all figured out. It was like at the bottom of the tongue it was hurting the top of my foot. I had the slim/thin / lightweight tongue, whatever it’s called. It was just too tight but it’s fine now I figured out how to tie it to make it not hurt my feet.
What was the solution or did you get a different tongue? Just tie your skates looser?

I don't know why... but that actually had me laughing. Mind if I ask why the services provided by this gear is no longer required?
Too big to fit into my knee cradle. Comfort and protection wise they feel good but they are bulky.

Is the X2 pro pant this highest level pant they made that year? Thinking about purchasing the X2 pro pant or the X3 pro + pant.

Got in touch with someone else through their social media to get a better understanding and they replied with:
“Oh shoot, sorry about that. What he may not have explained is that the nhl spec is really just smaller elbow floaters. They have to be a certain width to be legal in the nhl. Unfortunately this makes the elbow rather tight and not the best flexibility for goalies that are just playing for fun.
Other than that... we can make you anything”
Regardless this goes down as one of the strangest ordering process I’ve gone through.
Would he make you a 3 piece top and bottom floater design like on the Vaughns? That should increase flexibility.

Say what now? Where did you hear this?
Look at the Verizon website by the packages cell phone packages. It states Disney plus as well. Not that time interested but they advertise that more than ESPN plus.
-
Sling and ESPN +. If you have Verizon wireless they give you ESPN+ for free.
