Thanks for the input everyone. I've order the hyperlite 2.0 straps and going to give that a go.

Where did you order the straps from?  I just got a Mach set and the tune fit strap is ridiculously tight even on the widest setting.  Was thinking about tying in skate lace or something to the loops attached to pad to help loosen the fit...

  2. Sorry to hear about your struggles.  Hockey should be fun and something you look forward to doing.  At the end of the day, you have to do what YOU want to do.  It doesn't matter what others want you to do.  Take some time to reflect and make the decision that is best for YOU!

Expensive for a used unit. I wish I had inside connections -_-

Whenever these pop up, they are beat and waaaay overpriced!  Waiting for the new CCM to be released at retail and I hear it is $750!  Ridiculous!

  4. Looking to upgrade my 2X Pro pads to the Bauer solid knee block.  Is there a night and day difference in how the pad plays with the block solid/ built into pad?

Any concern with the block's plastic bracket cracking?  Thanks!

Hey all, I was lucky enough to pick up a brand new pair of 2022 Konekts for $600 CAD all in. They feel amazing. I have a 4E wide foot in New Balance sneakers and even without shims they feel great. Probably my only complaint is trying to get my ankle locked in but even when the boot is "loose" it still feels better and more stable than any other skate I've worn. This is the first skate that hasn't caused me pain, ever.

Only question I have is - what is the little grey tool that was attached to the skate for?

The tool is for removing the blades from the holder.

New Tendy here who was just able to snatch an unused one, on a scale of 1-10 how hot does it get. I'm not that big of a guy either 6'2 170, currently in an Axis 2 chest and id give it maybe a 4/10 on heat, would love to know what you think!

You buy the Francouz Fit 2 on SLS?  I was looking at that.  Knew it would go fast.

I thought he switched to the new Konekts?

He did, but uses the white holder.  Switched out of the black ones.

Noticed Askarov is using the black holders on his regular Bauer lace up boots.

Interesting mod for shesty, looks like a Vaughn V9/V10 knee pad with dual VE8 thigh caps

I think that's just the stock version with "Double Shield" protection.

Guess Bauer wants Askarov as the future of the Vapor line? He’s almost exclusively used Supreme graphics since his VHL days. Also that glove looks different from the normal vapor glove, but definitely not a 90. Curious what it may be or perhaps I’m just crazy.

Pretty sure it's just the normal Vapor glove.

I won't comment on True sticks since I've never used them, but I will say that Warrior's are highly used at the top level for a reason.

So look into that as you will.

The Warrior V1 Pro+ has been the most durable stick I have ever used.  That and the CCM Premier II.  Both can take a beating.

Oh just wait until you see what true is bringing to the table...

I can't imagine the Konekt 2 is much different than the original.  Is True doing velcro straps lol?

Not that high thankfully. Gotta keep in mind there's nothing special in these chests. Excluding the sternum it's all LD and HD foams

Whenever I see these online for resale, they always have the same wear spots under the inside arms.  Hopefully they use a better material in this area going foward.  My guess is it's the same.  Noticed this with Vaughn's mesh material wearing much faster too on my VE8 pro return.

Wait til you see the cost on this one. If it makes you feel better once you find the cost it's the same the pro guys are paying

    Let me guess.  $1000 USD?

This is the product you should be getting at retail for the amount of money they charge for "pro level" gear.

The ol' RBK/Vaughn days. I remember Bauer being an outlier since their gear seemed to always be chasing what RBK/Vaughn were doing.

Really makes you note just how influential the Od1in line was for the evolution of goalie pads.

The OD1N line for pads surely changed the game.  Also, the Bauer 1S goalie skate.
