I've used both and feel the CCM Pro are the better option. They are bulkier, but I do like the protection and I think they are more comfortable to land on. You won't know until you try the Bauer...

My biggest concern with these is the lack of "wrap" protection around the inner knee and thigh like the CCM Pro or Bauer Pro knee pads have. These look great for head on shots, but what about the one timer across the crease that catches you on the inside knee area? The price is unreal and I could not justify spending that much money. Knee pads should be no more than $150. Just my two cents!

Just to give an idea, this is the lowest model skate, and fir whatever reason the only new model we got in yet
Wow! It’s as if they ripped off CCM Tacks skate look. Looks the same, but in neon green! This is ugly as sin and a shame to see. Why do companies keep making gear look more and more ridiculous?

Damn, those are ugly looking. Not a fan of these bright colors being added to gear. The cord on the Hyperlite pad and now this just look cheap IMO.
Bauer should keep the Vapor and Supreme lines. My guess is they were overwhelmed with all the products. Maybe next time don’t have a product listed higher than the “Pro”.- 1

Looks like the user is wearing them backwards. The velcro is usually on the outside of the knee.

I thought this would be a topic many would be interested in, since we often don’t see what pros are wearing under their socks. Guys (like Rittich or Hart) who wear their pads exposed, we know. But what about Mike Smith? Here’s an older pic from his time with Coyotes. Looks like the old grey Reeboks:
Here is Crow with what also looks like to be the same style. I think he wears the CCM KP 1.9 with the plastic knee cap:
Holtby wears his exposed, but actually cuts out the plastic knee cap (anyone who has worn these knows why): -
I'm interested to see how the 90 degree integrated knee landing holds up from durability standpoint. If it breaks, it seems you are screwed.

Anyone else feel like the new highly touted lines of the Axis and ULTRASONIC SUPREME WITH CHEESE pads are just slight improvements instead of these "revolutionary" changes every goalie social media account is claiming?
For sure! Lots of people buy into the hype though. To me, it seems like these new pads are becoming cheaper (both in materials and looks). Yet the price tag is super high. The companies and gear influencers argue "the cost of R&D, etc." The reality is, these companies have found a way to manufacture a super inexpensive pad and market it as high end/ quality.

Andersen's equipment is probably not the Ultra Sonic line. Rather, a skinned version of the previous 2S/1S he has been using.

I believe Smith wears the old Reebok grey knee pads. Wonder if he has the standard black knee cap or the modified Swiss version.
