I originally was wearing the McKenney 870 but I couldn't figure out how to untuck comfortably without the whole chest riding up into my mask. Found an old Vaughn Epic 8800 that fit exactly how I wanted but I could feel almost every shot.
Why not mix them together and fill the gaps with an old pair of Graf G700 pants?
Here is the project half finished. The old Vaughn elbows were almost nothing and would not fit over the beefed up arms. You can see the some funky stitching on the right forearm as I could just barely fit the extra padding without needing extra fabric to close it up. Added extra shoulder flaps to cover the Vaughn gaps using the sacrificial Graf pants. Doubled up the shoulder floaters but might revisit this, I was worried about the little exposed part that the McKenney shoulder doesn't cover at the bottom
Original arm and forearm padding.
Extra foams and plastic from Graf G700 pants.
Finished product for now. Shoulders are a bit high but not an issue when crouched. I am thinking of addressing the stomach but this thing is already getting heavy.
