Hello, my foot doesn’t really fit any of the Bauer fits for skates. I have the width of a fit 2 but height of fit 3, so a fit 2 is uncomfortable but fit 3 gives too much space. Does anyone know if any other brands would be able to provide a skate to fit me that is reasonably priced (true customs are too pricy) thanks.

That doesn't sound so unique. Fit 2 or 3 should be ok if the skate fits otherwise and you bake it well. But if you have a "normal" feet with just fit2 width and fit3 height, you could try to find latest Vapor skate with D width.

  2. I've seen Warrior player "TEAM" stick and it's a lower lever stick. It might be a model for semi-pro teams, there are options which you won't get in stock models and you have to order big bunch of those.

But $99 with Howies tape sounds great deal if you don't need a pro model.

It's good to know that both pro palm and non-pro palm gloves work. Hopefully all price point gloves for True work well.

I'm one of those who would say that all CCM Levebvre gloves (especially semi-pro Eflexs, SR, INT & JR) were terrible. But all made in Canada True gloves have been like butter, difference is like a day and night. I couldn't believe that I would play with Levebvre glove, now it's one very good option. I've seen couple of those Asian made True gloves and those are good but not same as Canadian made ones and the price point is similar with other pro gloves.

  4. To be honest if it's a quarantee issue it would only happen to one pad and for first user. Now it's both pads = user fault? I didn't find the picture of your pads but I remember some photo I saw and the boot wear isn't normal. It looked more like playing at asphalt or something.

If it's good enough for the pro goalies in the Euro leagues, it's good enough for the goalies in the NHL. Just because the skill level in the Euro leagues is lower than in the NHL doesn't mean the goalie equipment faces less abuse.

In euro leagues you wont get a new set whenever you want.  It depends on team and level you're playing but I think most common is two pair of pads and 2-4 sets of gloves, sometimes more and sometimes just one pair pads and two glove sets. And I bet that there is in Europe fewer games but more ice practices than in NHL during the season.

If their gear isnt being played in by the best goalies on the planet, then what exactly quantifies as innovation and development?

If you want to create a very good car for daily use, would you ask wishes from a F1 driver or a taxi driver?

  7. I don't know who is Tom Hodges but quick Google search and he hasn't play too much during last seasons. Sounds more like a joke than class act, great for the goalie tho. NHL is still a pro league. Never heard that you can wear three goalies in the one game.

Edit. I red that both goalies of Ducks injured and he is emergency backup goalie of Stars. So I have changed my opinion, great story.

Not that it matters much to me, but, if I select the G6.1 Catch Glove, what difference will the liners make? If the glove has a particular break angle, does the liner I select affect much in the grand scheme of things?

If I remember correctly only G6 (catcher and blocker) comes with velcro liners. I don know how if you can order custom 6.1 with velcro liners.

  9. You can't compare those pads to modern pads. The design is almost 20 years old and it wasn't the greatest success. I bet someone liked them but most didn't. Over rotation was big problem if you wear them loose.

It's a design flaw for sure.   There's a huge difference between my Axis 600 and my EF5 600 in terms of closeabilty.    However, it's not a QC issue.

Quality control issue because they allow that kind of gloves leave the factory and sell those. One local shop sent all the lower level CCM gloves to repair guy.  When Lefevre is with True, CCM should design a brand new glove model.

Do you know which palm it is - ie pro, practice, game?  I've seen practice palms that you could not close due to how much extra padding is in it.

Printed graphics, that isn't a pro glove.

Poor quality control and design flaw. It's a shame that CCM sell that kind of crap . That's not the only glove which is like that.

So it looks like that slide plate is removable? I wonder if Warrior will sell that individually and if it would fit a G4/5...

    Yes.

I am really impressed by G6's. Warrior finally changed many small details and pads will look like "new model". They will offer two  adult glove lines and some major changes also with Yth/Jr/Int lines. So I think next season will be goof for Warrior goalie.

Maybe they hit a wall, or maybe they listened to the users and applied the changes, or maybe they are of the mentality now of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Maybe you're right or/and I was too hars. They have made changes, no doubt. But nothing radical and the worst thing is that gear looks very similar with older models. It's just my opinion and I wear Warrior gear.

But maybe you can say same thing if you describe Vapors (1x, 2x, 3x) or Reebok Premiers.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any logo-less Warrior gear in the Worlds, be it Juniors, Men's or Women's. Bauer has always had a stronghold during those competitions.

I don't know about the logos but Finnish U20 WJC starting goalie and Women's 2nd goelies wore Warrior gear.

But it is kind of sad if they only have one line and next big release after one year and Euro goelies are already using those gear. You can Google Jeremy Smith in Kunlun Red Star KHL and see that G6 gear are very similar, maybe knee landing is flat and vertical rolls are even thinner, but there were times when Warrior was unique.

I don't have R/GTs, but I'm on my 3rd or 4th Warrior set and over a little bit of time they've all softened up quite a bit.

For comparison, I've kept choosing them over Optiks with an FLX core, Vapor 2X pros, Premiers, and a couple other sets. The only ones that I really considered was a Gnetik 3 set, only problem was the sizing wasn't quite right.

I don't think anything made today will play much like a traditional old school pad unless you get a bespoke old school pad made.

This is true, almost all the "hybrid soft pads" are stiff/thin and "stiff butterfly" pads are extra stiff. Then there might be some old stock Reactors or Eflexes which are heavy and thick, but still quite stiff. I wouldn't wait the time when Warrior's thigh rise is "mushy".

I sold some old stock Reactor 9000 pads to a ringette goalie, her old pads were 10 years old. After the first skate she call me back and said she wanna return pads because they are so stiff. Now after two years she is happy with Reactors.

I had GT's two season, then I used brand new GT2's about one month while I waited GT2 customs. While the transition was quite easy and pads were similars but still few first skates they felt "odd and stiff".

Given the rumours that the GT line is being discontinued, I'll be interested to see if they give more customization options for G6 Pro gear. GT catchers, with the sewn-in palm, feel so much better than the velcro liners in the G# series.

You can still order custom GT2 gear.

@seagoal is right. I've always enjoyed the notion of matching a teams colours and it really does give you this extra pride in your gear. Look good, play good right?

What looks better, first picture or the second?

Second. It looks like there is no black color in the first jersey and d-man wears all red jersey. In the second picture seems like everyone wears same kind of jerseys. 😇
