I wore the Aegis shirt last night for the first time.  I really like it.  It is much lighter than my UnEqual padded base layers.  It is closer to loose fit than compression, which I also liked.  I didn't really take any rockets off of the padded areas so I can't comment on protection.  I pulled the pads out afterwards and the shirt is currently in the washer, so we will start the durability testing now.  Overall, I can see myself transitioning to Aegis as my UnEqual's wear out.

To start I was pleasantly surprised with the packaging and clear tags. I'm so used to this type of stuff just existing on a hanger with a useless tag, these actually have information about the product and using it.

I was a bit surprised to discover the shirt came without the padding in, but it comes in a nice little laundry bag. 

Here's the shirt laid out with the padding on top. Sorry, looks like I forgot to take a pic with the pads in. The rib and bicep pads went in very easily. I struggled a little bit with the clavicle and sternum inserts as they are inside the shirt while the others are on the outside. I'm a bit concerned about me being lazy with removing and replacing these when I wash the shirt. I also just ordered a Kova neck guard which may make these completely redundant. 

Currently I wear an old Verbero shirt with just generic foam padding. Interestingly the Verbero has significantly more coverage while also being about 80g lighter. That being said when I wore the Aegis shirt the additional weight was not at all noticeable. This shirt does have a much better length than the Verbero both on the body and sleeves which is actually a big bonus because the Verbero would sometimes roll up from certain motions and it's a pain to fix once all the gear is on. 

I threw on my chesty in the basement and tried to move around a bit, I did not notice any obstructions from the bicep pad which I was a bit worried about due to the width and I did not find the arm grips to be problematic at all as I saw some posters mention.

Overall it seems like a comfortable shirt with a good fit, the D3O foam (is that the right term?) is pretty cool. I am definitely going to try it my next time on the ice. Pants in the next post... 

My shirt arrived today, and I'm going to try it our tonight.  I was struggling with inserting the clavicle protection until I turned the shirt inside out.  Then it was much easier.

A quick question - Will Aegis be selling supplemental D30 pads?  For example, I'd like to have protection for both biceps.  Thank you.

I love my Tydan.  I have four sets of backup to the two that I rotate with.  At the $40 price, I'd buy them all.

I’ve been looking for a replacement for my unequal base layer shirts, so I just ordered one of these.  I’m excited to give it a try.

I love my Catalyst PX3 so much that I thought a second PX3 set with L87 graphics would be appropriate

Mine started this way, but has broken in nicely and now seals well.  You just need a little patience.

Almost 57 here, and I am always at the rink really early hoping to get into the room to spend at least a half hour stretching and warming up.  Last night was my >40 draft league, and as I'm sitting in the hallway at 7:55 munching on popcorn (pre-game superstition) waiting for the room for my 9:00 game, a captain from one of the 8:00 teams comes out of his room and asks me if I can play.  Their 38 year old goalie forgot to get up from a nap.  Whoops.  So I got dressed and on the ice one minute into the game, and promptly had to stop a breakaway.  I felt like the tin man after a heavy rain.  Eventually, I warmed up and we ended up winning.  But I was gassed for my game at 9:00.  The 9:00 ended in a 2 - 2 tie and I played a good game.  Normally I'm tired on nights when I play two games but not dead.  I almost fell out of bed this morning because I am so beat up.

Synopsis:  I'm old and need my full pre-game ritual.  At the same time, I'm just happy to still be able to play hockey

Sportmask will (Or used to) do round holes for custom masks (I own one).  Quick was in a Sportmask Pro 3i, and after a quick image search, have the standard Sportmask holes.  I thought he had one with the round.

Played in a 3 on 3 outdoor tourney this past weekend.  My Wall W90's with Howard return pads.  It was a blast!

Thank you for the pics and comparisons!  I have 5 skates on my PX3 and am loving them.

The only "special" thing on here was a request to keep the sliding edge white weave and the back panel red.
On the customizer, the jenpro back panel and sliding edge are the same color zone.

These are fantastic!  I can't wait for your on-ice impression.   I'm on week six of waiting for mine from TGC. Paid on 11/1.  You give me hope that I'll see mine before Christmas.

Founded by University of Michigan hockey players (and a couple of other athletes).  I skate with the guy whose basement the company was created in.  I've been wearing their shirts for years.

The Cricut permanent Smart Vinyl.  It's not really permanent, one good shot and I have to replace it
