For carrying, I always say, "exercise on the way in, and punishment on the way out for all the goals I let up".

I don't think I've ever seen one other than in black and yellow. That's a unicorn pro and not a senior version, yes?

Sorry for your loss and hope you find a new source of income quickly.

I've been having trouble with my toe bungees being too lose, coming off even, not fully recentering my pads after butterfly saves. My bungees are the Simmons ones, good quality, undamaged. I wear a size 7 skate, so maybe they're too big for my skates? Anyway, in researching I stumbled across these
https://tendymods.com/products/tendy-tiesth
and found a positive review
wanderingjustin.com/tendy-ties/
Anyone here have any experience with these? They look like they use two bungees, so it might be a stronger attachment, more like laces but still with some give.
They also make a Ski boot style strapping mod so any skates can ditch the laces.
I looked up the Simmons toe the and the bungee is held in with a knot and easily replaceable. If that is the case, then you should either shorten the elastic a bit or feed the ties an extra time through the skate somewhere to tighten it up. Would try that first as that's the most cost effective option.
For the tendy mod, those would be potentially really easy to make by stopping at home depot and getting a box of bungees. He even uses the ball, I've been throwing those out for years lol. Some skate lace for protection and you could have Frankenstein ProlaceTendyMods. The concept is interesting enough and simple enough to give it a shot. It appears to be just one long bungee cord ran through protection, loops around and back through and then the knot inside the ball has the start and ending of the cord. Doesn't look like two cords to me.
Agree with coop. Prolaces are great. I'm on my 2nd set of TGN spec and they're awesome for me. This time around I added small skate lace spacers for that lace-post integration that's become a talking point lately while still having bungee effect. It's been working better with than without them.
Hope you find a solution.

Holy catch glove! How huge is that thing??
Haha it's a regular senior sized Simmons 998 glove. I'm just small at 5'6". I'm not sure if it's new NHL spec though. There's a goalie that uses an old spec glove in our league and it looks like a trash can lid on his hand and he's much taller than me.

I can participate in this thread finally. We had some photos taken of our team and I have a jersey to match this season. This is my second year with the team and I'm having a great time with them. Not a lot of action shots. I'm easily the shortest guy on the team. Last photo is to show off leg strapping.

Make goalie soup. Hot water bath with laundry detergent. Scrub inside and out till the water turns nasty. Drain and repeat with just warm to hot water as many times as needed until the water no longer changes color. Air dry with fans for 1 to 3 days. Do this at least every 6 months with all gear and it'll never stink.

I've been using my Simmons 995 for over a decade. If you'll be possibly outgrowing it, save yourself some cash and buy a Simmons. It was made as a copy of the original RBK pro units which are now basically the CCM pro units of today.

No need to but just curious, did you do it for the same reason I mentioned?
I did it because I knew I wouldn't be using them ever again so i figured a tiny weight savings and to clean up the pad from useless junk as I don't ever intend to sell these.

Has anyone cut off the rings in the boot channel that are used for their elastics? Would it make much of a difference?
I cut off all the plastic rings on my G2s. I can take pics if you want.

Nice work. Do you have more pics and what specifically did you do to the boot and do you have before and after anything of that?

Anyone ever try furniture sliders on top of something like slippery tape or a sheet?
Yes. They'll be off your pads and in your crease in no time.

The bungee lace actually kinda sounds genius it you think about it to let the pants stretch for the tuck while also letting you tie the chest protector down to them
I did this on my Warrior pants a couple years ago when i got them. Seemed to work well and haven't had any issues.

It's a pretty good optical illusion, then.
Possibly reflecting the blue paint. It's bright out there.

Yes. See this thread:

Interesting that there's a pic of Alex Lyon with the logo showing. Do they not have to pay the fees for something like that?
I wonder if they're mostly using off the shelf neck guards?
They're not in business anymore so no one could write a check. Not sure how it would've worked, but it's not large advertising for Maltese.
-
I would recommend a Maltese neck guard if you can find a used one in good condition and your size. Maltese is no longer in business so this would be my next recommendation:

Man, thats awesome. I broke my skates once when I was younger... Dad left to get me new wheels but never came back.
Kudos to you.
Like "went for a gallon of milk and cigarettes" never came back?

Would be cool if they added the inner thigh padding these had. I took a freak inner thigh inline shot and bought these over a decade ago. I have two pairs that are almost decayed and Shock Doctor discontinued these. I know the chances are low of a shot there, but I liked having the padding there evere since.

Sounds like you're good to go then!

From my own experiences and time on GSBB, you gotta make these out of hmwpe or they'll shatter from a shot. Let us know how they work out, they look fantastic.

You gotta take a break. You're not having fun. You're burnt out. You're not gonna rediscover your love of the game while being burnt out. Either skip the end of summer session, or delay or skip your winter session. I love playing goal, it's about my only thing I do for myself. Last winter, another goalie got hurt (not goalie related), and this goalie played or subbed for several teams, while I had my own team and sub for other teams here and there as well. He asked me to fill in for him. I did what I could, but after two months I was burnt out playing 5-6 games a week and playing like crap. Not having fun anymore. It was noticable to other teams that knew I wasn't playing as good as I normally do. Then I blew my shoulder out shortly after. It forced me to take a break. 3-4 weeks off and I'm scrambling trying to get back in net and having fun again. The other goalie came back and I was no longer needed so much. Life's good again. Take a break and I hope you find peace.

Yes in theory all the lines were for ice hockey, but you would have gotten hurt wearing 6k gloves playing ice. I got hurt with them playing inline. The 8k's were definitely a step up. It just probably won't compare to today's senior non-pro models. This was when everything was going to China and the quality was hit or miss. And yes it's the first time there were 3 price points for senior models. At one point, there were two lower models, a China pro model and a Canadian pro model, so you had 4 options at one point I think. The next line to come out was the 7k, 9k, and pro models.

Warrior's intermediate stick is 23.5" but their measuring process isn't standard compared to the rest of the industry's.
