Where did you get the poron? Mcmaster-Carr has regular poron in diffrent densities but not xrd. I found a xrd kit used for longboarding/ skateboarding.
Long story. My dad acquired some xrd poron by calling xrd, informing them that he was interested in using their product to custom pad helmets. XRD sent him 4 different weights and 2 different thicknesses (four sheets overall) to sample. We have since custom padded a Hackva mask using poron and maltese padding. While I haven't done this or read of anyone doing this I assume you can order sheets of poron direct from XRD. Enjoy! http://www.xrd.tech/products/index.aspx

They are Orio pro-returns.
Lol, the first time I read this I saw Oreo. I didn't even bother to re-read it before googling "oreo hockey goalie".

cut it off. had the same issue with my 7700
I have retired this helmet so it's no longer a problem. My Bauer 950X does not have this issue.

Indeed. Some people still like to complain about the durability of the Toe Hooks but I've only ever snapped one. I've used the same set on 3 pairs of skates and 2 1/2 sets of pads (it's half because I used the pads for on game). No complaints here.

I was really tired and I almost did on accident once! Pictures look better in that orientation to me anyways.

what the shit is going on with that strap on your chin?
I knew someone was going to ask about that! I have a small face (my face is so small that I run the chin cup in the 950X upside down) and it kept bothering the underside of my jaw so I put it there instead. I didn't want to cut the strap any shorter. The chin cup also fit better that way because there was less material between it and the shell.

Man y'all have some awesome helmets. I feel like a peasant with my boring, plain white, Bauer 950X.

In the words of Joe Walsh, "Life's been good to me so far".
These just came in the mail yesterday. I've never used a G1 Shooter before so we'll see how it goes.
First Impressions: It seemed really light and balanced compared to my chopped True A6.0 FC Pro. Love the color.
Y'all like the messy garage floor background?

i prefer a stiff pads but i don't really like the ventus graphic versus the V8
It may not be available to the public but you could always freehand it with some pad wrap.

Baking? I'm not familiar with baking gloves/blockers. I've heard of baking skates and I assume it does the same thing for gloves and blockers. Does baking the glove allow for better/easier closure?

They're still a pretty new styled pad. Depending on the age of guys around here, old styled pad means many things.
Yeah, I forgot to consider that. For example: I consider the Reebok Premier II Pro leg pads pretty old. Most of you would consider things like Cooper pads ancient. I do feel that throughout generations our perception of "old" has been warped. Most people at my school consider phones that are as low as 2 years old, "old".
Woooo! I started page 5!

Aren't you just adorable. Thinking that Ventus pads are an older style.
I did say I was a high schooler did I not? I'm aware that the Ventuses aren't old but it's a known fact that Vaughn has always trailed behind everyone else when it comes to new materials and designs.

Helllo All,
I am a complete noob to goalie forums and hockey forums in general. I am a Texas high school Goalie for JV Gold and Varsity Bronze (I also play DSMHL 14U and 18U). I have joined these forums in hopes to pick up a few tips on how to be a better goalie. It's been a rough season overall for me and I just needed somewhere I could go to help and be helped. I am potentially one of the youngest members of this forum. I might cause great controversy over this statement, I am not a fan of the new Bauer pads. I prefer the older style stuff like the Vaughns I have.
My current hobby is remote control cars. I own 1 crawler, 1 short course truck, and 1 rally car. If I didn't put so much money into these then I could probably get my helmet wrapped or something cool like that. Also, y'all have some cool looking pads.
My current setup: Vaughn Ventus LT88 leg pads (34+2), Warrior G3 blocker, CCM Premier R1.9 Intermediate Glove, Vaughn SLR Pro CA, Bauer Profile 950X helmet, True A6.0 FCPro stick (25in paddle cut to 24in), Northstar G3 shooter stick (25in paddle), custom PAW neck protector, Graf Spura G4500 skates, Reebok Premier XLT thigh wraps, and Bauer Elite Knee Guards.
