How are you guys breaking in the tee/opening of the glove? Mine has that been closed for a long time/ stock sharp pointy T. Trying to get it a little more round so I can get some more coverage.

I had this same issue. I had some extra pvc lying around, so I cut a piece to stretch open the glove.

I ordered all black g5s a little over 5 weeks ago and because of the all black I was told I should get them in around 7-8 weeks, but i dont know if that really true

I think it is really more about the shipping situation than it is about the colors affecting the build time. I got a picture of my pads completed at 7 weeks but it took 5 more weeks for me to get them.

In terms of where my knee landed, I thought the G5s fit the same or slightly smaller than the EF4s (knee was hitting the same spot on the stack, or very slightly higher).

It seems sturdy enough to attach them there, but I guess time will tell.

I believe that it’ll be sturdy enough. It is to pieces of jenpro that are double stitched together.

Interesting. I was wearing 35+1 Velocity V5s before I got my G3s, and was landing perfectly on the V5 stack without any bootstrap (just my lace toe ties, a calfstrap, and a knee strap)

I used prolaces on my old pads and kept the boot strap order loose rather than removing it. The G5’s I need to use the Lundy loop to land on the knee stack.

Mhm. Without using the loop, my knee tends to land a little bit high of centre on the stack. I think, if I were to order a custom set from Warrior, I'd get 36+1.5 (currently in a 35+1.5). Maybe a 36+1.

I had 36+2 SLRs and ordered 36+1.5 for my G5. I still feel like I’m landing high on the G5 when the SLR felt fine with using the bootstrap under my skate.

The pad sitting higher up on your foot is due to the strap running through the Lundy Loop. I switched from strapping under my boot to through the loop for my last few skates before everything shutdown (G3s, not G5s), and really liked how it positioned my knee on the stack when I butterflied. Felt like the pad moved less when I skated out of my net, ass well.

I think that this helps me to land on the correct spot on the knee stack similar to the way the professor strap did. It just seems weird looking down and seeing the front of my skate exposed now.

I think for my first time in my G5 pads tonight I’m going to use the CRS strap with the boot strap going through the Lundy loop, the calf strap going through the loop in the tighter setting and the knee strap down to the calf.

my thought now is how much will I miss having a professor strap on my pads.

I used the my pads for the first time last night. The gloves felt great, it was a little bit more difficult for me going from a white glove to the black. Hasn’t caused any issues yet.

After the first period I had to loosen up both of the straps and will switch to not have the calf strap go through the pad.
One thing I noticed was That the pad seems to be sitting much more on top of my skate with the toe of my skate exposed. I am not sure how that changes when I am down in my stance. Just looked weird to me.
Overall the pads felt food and didn’t seem to have much of an adjustment for me.

Really there's no reason to not use Warrior's system until it wears out.  I've used the Warrior elastic, Brian's original Smart Straps and a couple different bungee ties.  At the end of the day there are really no significant differences between how the bungee ties and the Warrior system function.

I have the pro laces so I wanted to throw them on to have a familiar feeling with these pads.

Here's my weight alone then holding one 35 +1.5 pad with everything that came with it still attached.

My 36+1.5 pad came in at 4.2 lbs a after I took out the clip and Velcro at the knee.

What size did you go with? The set looks killer I like the pop of the logos off of the dark backing.

when did you order yours again?

Went with 36 +1.5. My SLRs were 36+2. Biggest thing I see with the leg pads is figuring out how I’m going to strap them up between the boot strap and the toe ties without there being a toe bridge. Just trying them on at home it felt like I needed to use the Lundy loop for the boot strap to put the pad in a good position for me.

I think that I ordered on 3/23. So it took almost 12 weeks. I feel like I must have been one of the first ones done in the batch that they shipped out.

  12. Got my set in today and I am extremely happy with them even with the extra wait. Looking forward to getting them on the ice this weekend, the glove is really snappy and just needs broken in to open it up and present bigger. My biggest worry is how to get my prolaces on them too. The thigh rise is definitely much thinner than on my SLR pads.

I ordered 11 weeks and 2 days ago. Should arrive at my door by EOD next Monday, because they're shipping to the USA. That's part of why I had to jump on this deal - not only was it a great combo package anyway, but with the CAD --> USD conversion, it's basically an entire set for the price of just what you'd pay for pads in the USA.

I just looked at the tracking info I received and it says that I should get them on Thursday.

  14. I saw a picture of my pads completed when I sent a message to warrior instagram. That was at about the 7 week point, that was 4 weeks ago. I messaged them again and they told me that they switched to consolidating their shipments and one was made on 5/20. I haven’t heard anything more from TGC about warrior pads being received.

I really want to get them as them as I have been playing quite a lot already. I’ve played 5 games in the last 6 days and I have 2 more this weekend.

Ok, but other than the palm thickness being different, do you know if the G3/G4 palms can still attach to a G5 glove. I have a custom set on the way - I ordered an INT 75 palm in my glove just to try it out. I have a G3 90 degree palm I was planning to use if I don’t like the 75. I may need to reach out to the rep who did my order (although I swear I asked this question early in the process of putting the order together).

Yes the older liners still fit in the G5.

I don't think any regular beer leaguer is going to come back swinging after all of this.

After a couple sticktimes this week I am going to jump back into having 12 games in 18 days starting Saturday afternoon. I may die starting out with 4 in 4 days.

  17. I got to use this on the ice for the first time today.  I putt a buttendz grip on it and i loved the way that it felt in my blocker.  The R/M1 Sr+ feels pretty good but really not much different than my CR2.  Shooting was very much the same for me and I didn't really notice the lower kick point.

I've never really been able to do much with a Turko grip, but I use a short 25" paddle.  The other goalie had a 26" 2s Pro that he just got and it was pretty nice.  I think that longer length is needed for me to properly switch grips.
