What area are you in? There are many repair guys that can copy their stuff.

I would love this too. XL waist with internal belt, trimmed pant length and my proprietary "super secret design for super cheater 5 hole webbing"...lol
Don't forget the plastic pipes for the extra leg width

Someone refresh my memory - Before they changed there name to Passau, didn't they make pants, and sold that part of the business to Combat?

Looks like I may have to try and go direct. I'm fairly certain they aren't produced anymore. I was hoping someone was going to find a diamond in the rough. Thanks for the help.
try these guys, the have lots of cages, might still have something

Good question but I do believe they do everyone's cages including those guys.
Yes they make them for Sportmask, but don't know if you can buy direct.

Look up - he did add T3 to the question
And if we are sticking to his inquiry, he asked for comparison between X8/Bauer/Hackva

@goalie - I am not anti Sportmask at all, but he asked about the X8 and not the T3. There's better options than the X8 at a very similar price point
Look up - he did add T3 to the question

If $ is an issue, have a look at the CCM on sale CAD, comparable to X8

if you are in US - order from Canada save some $ on FX

@Tr33guy - welcome to the board!
If I can ask your budget?
If it's around 600 USD, you can get a custom padded pro level mask from Masked Marvel ( @Joe Messina ), Protechsport, or Coveted ( @ron@covetedmask.com)
This will be safer, higher quality, and longer lasting than any of the masks you're referring to above
All good choices. But if we are now talking T3, I've had a couple, no issues, no injuries. Huge upgrade over Hackva

Amen to that. And as to durability - Bauer comps have a pretty good track record compared to the other companies.

Time for a new helmet for my son and for another helmet question....
He will be playing high school hockey this winter, he is currently in a Hackva which is starting to show its age. My question is about the Sportmask X8 and how it compares to the Bauer helmets in terms of protection (is it like an NME 5 or the 960 etc.). I understand a helmets fit is the most crucial aspect, so that will obviously play a role in the decision. Any information is appreciated! Thanks!Sportmask X8 is a mid level mask as apposed to pro level. For mid level it is as good as any. Tends to fit a wider head than Bauer. An upgrade from Hackva.

Guys, need some opinions. Here's my set. (I know, very white). Would you go with a black mask to mix it up a bit or go with the white mask and keep it all white? I'm on a couple teams so jersey colour is all over the place.
All white all the way - keep it pure (you can get white pants made if you want to go all in!)

I'm looking at grabbing either a Coveted or Otny Mask, both made in Canada, just seems you can only buy Otny masks via GoalieParts.com in USD where Coveted are sold directly by Ron and crew. I live in Canukistan so further shipping and conversion to canadian rupels doesn't work out in my favor...
I assume you tried here (the OTNY site in Canada)

Really? Tell that to the last 3 gloves I did it to.
Guess it works. I just don't understand how this method forms to the mechanics of the way your hand closes.

Yes I told him about the website. He said he doesn't have time for message boards at the moment but would check it out when he could.
Hmmmm...pour some hot water on my glove, close it how I like it, wrap it in a towel and sit it in front of a fan to dry...or...throw a puck at it a couple hundred times. Yea, that's a tough choice to make .
ok 50 times and 3 practices.
Hot water will loosen it up, but not make it form to the way you want it to close.
-
Gloves are so game ready now. Best to put in the skate oven when you buy it, loosen it up and get the shape you want. Get a weighted puck toss it in for a couple hundred times. After a couple practices, broken in.
No need for all that water mess.

I thought it was the 50/70 club?
40's whipper snappers shouldn't be allowed.
