  1. Sorry in advance, Flyers fans. What an overpay.

Philadelphia Flyers have acquired defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen from the Buffalo Sabres, in exchange for first- and second-round draft picks and defenseman Robert Hagg. The first-round pick will be No. 14 on Friday night as the 2021 NHL Draft begins, and the second-rounder will be in 2023.

  2. I really want Ned to pan out in Detroit, it'd solve a lot of issues. It's a low risk bet regardless (2 years/$3M per) but a few things make me wonder how it's gonna go. Small NHL sample size, his AHL numbers weren't great, and Carolina's D corps are a hell of a lot better than Detroit's (Leddy acquisition and Seider Jesus aside). Just hoping he isn't Andrew Hammond 2.0.

I thought Bernier was set to stay in Detroit but I guess they saw a different performance.

Me too, I was hoping for that. Reports are he informed the FO he was going to test the market, so makes sense to get something for him before he's gone.

Main takeaway from this trade is Reimer and Bernier reunited on the canes hahaha. In all seriousness, great move by Stevie Y, Ned still needs to prove himself long term, but detroit goaltending just got 7 years younger to match the young squad.

Also, sounds like Keith Petruzzelli isn't going to sign and will become a free agent, so it's good move to shore up the position. Detroit has literally no goalie prospects of note. I'd like to see them take Cossa or Wallstedt in the draft tomorrow (if one of them is still there late in the first round).

Gary Bettman secretly working for ESPN? HAHAHA, gotta love those name butcherings

Chris Fowler was pretty bad also, unfortunately. Like, has he ever watched hockey in his life? Calling the Hurricanes the Carolina Panthers when they were making the Geekie pick was brutal.

It's odd that people still comment about there being no stand up goalies any more.

There hasn't really been any in nearly two decades

Dude, it blows my mind how uneducated otherwise-brilliant hockey people are when it comes to goaltending.

Just to add to the my post, I just came back from PHL and tried on some 35" G4 Pros and here again, my knee lands about 2" from the top of the block edge. Is there a discrepancy between their models?

Side note: the G4 is lighter than the G5 despite the thinner thigh rise.

Side Side note: The Vaughn V8 catcher feels gooood :D. The Bauer 3X felt terrible on my hand.

I had this happen to me also. I was in 35+1.5 and was landing near the top of the block. When I ordered my G4's I went with a 36+0.5 as the overall length of the 35 was good, just wanted some extra height on the block to land center.

  8. Warrior G4 Pro custom blocker in vintage tan, black, and silver. Small wear spots as shown, cut in the jenpro repaired with shoe goo. Thoroughly cleaned, palm liner removed and sanitized. Bought it for a bucky setup I was going to put together and changed plans. Asking $75 USD plus shipping. Shipping from Michigan, Zip 48084.

They got here about a year ago.   I'm going to do an Axis vs EF5 comparison once I get a few more games in the EF5's and I'll put pics there.

Whoa, reply fail. Sorry about that, I saw June 3rd and didn't even look at the year lol.

Thanks Chenner.  I got a UPS estimate of $40.08.  Spot on. I have a new box on the way to me so I'll just go ahead and use that and use the paper padding they send after taping the sticks together.

By the way, I secured a new owner of those sticks, so feel free to close/delete that thread, please and thank you.

They are going to a young goalie, I'm assuming a teenager, in North Dakota.  Hopefully, he'll remain a member on here and join our banter.

Hey Seagoal, I meant to chime in on the other thread and the weekend got away from me. Just wanted to say thanks for your generosity. It means a lot!

Looking at the teams left - A final between the Jets and the Islanders would be interesting.

Imagine going back 20 years ago and saying that in 2021 the Winnipeg Jets would be in the finals against the Islanders?

This is my hope as well, I'd love to see those two teams in the Final.

Unfortunately it looks like a Lightning-Avalanche final is most likely, which is kinda gross. Fandom aside though, it'd be good to watch two of the league's best teams duke it out.

*puts on Pierre McGuire mask* didn't they play youth hockey together or something?

Saw the hit on TV live and it was pretty scary.  Thank goodness he's okay.

Your post made my Price Fanboy (tm) radar go off.  He had a solid game, made his saves look easy.

That sprawling blocker save on Marner was huge

Ha, I like Price but I'm not much of a fanboy. I have lots of family and friends in Toronto/southern Ontario and I generally find Leafs fans to be insufferable. Most of them are great people otherwise, but their team fanaticism gets to me after a while.

  13. That sequence of him trying to get up and then flopping back on the trainer was pretty terrifying. Glad to hear he's been released from the hospital.

It'll be interesting to see how the Leafs come back tomorrow. I'm hoping for a Habs series win because loleafs.
