    Glad we could help

Ugh, that suck man.  Why didn't you just bring it to any seamstress to do the repair?

    SPEEDY STITCHER  BOYS!

Ive taken my tabs apart a bunch of times as i ran then right through the bridge of my old pillows.  3 stitches and your golden.

Here's my Vaughn Ventus LT88s (34+2)(ignore the Northstar stick. That's also definitely not a Hackva mask with custom padding in the background)

(and those definitely aren't Graf skates lol)

i hope you dont wear these in the orientation that you store and photograph them ;)

Nice snag Doobie!  I'm really into those colors right now...hoping for an NHL expansion team using them soon...

I really enjoy my V7 chestie.  Mine is just stock so the forearms are a bit small compared to that unit, which I realized quite painfully 2 weeks ago.  I wasn't square to the shot and I had my wrist turned up a bit and the puck tagged me pretty good.

I like your partial family photo there.  I need to update mine once my new pads show up.

I"m pretty sure I overhauled everything from head to toe this year.  Is that right??   Yes, it is....with the exception of my bag.

Thanks!  I know the exact feeling of getting a stinger in the forearm or bicep with the stock set up lol... the padding in this is almost double the thickness of stock, it was the first thing i noticed.

I've overhauled everything 2 times now in the last year except pants and jock (skates once only).  I just started playing again last year after a long hiatus though ;)

Very nice pick up... I saw it on GGSU but it's just too big for me.

I wish Vaughn would make their retail units in the Pro Beef up specs.

I watched Zach when he was with the Warriors when they came to Regina... He was always solid.

ya ive been waithing for a xl/L to pop up and it just happened to be his.  Nice kid.  I got a pretty good deal on it as i came from playing at the universtiy right before... I may have threatened to do bad things to his crease if he didnt accept my offer ;)

  5. I snagged this bad boy last night..... Its literally a championship level chesty ;)  I grabbed it here in E-town from Zach Sawchenko, who wore it last season as the goalie for our university team.  What a difference when you compare my V6 2200 to this nhl spec V7 XF Pro Carbon.  The bicep (twice as thick as my V6) and forearm protection is night and day (my only gripe with the V6).  I have the arms on my XL V6 sewn up to make them more like large arms but this new score is built with an XL body and Large arms which feel much better.

Very good to know. I'm getting the VE 8 blocker and catcher tomorrow. The pads I'm still on the fence about..

Thinking I might just buy em both and wear em in my basement to try and feel em out as best as I can and just return whatever one I don't go with.

You’re going to love those mitts bud!

yeah i like the xf a lot and was thinking of getting a v8. was questioning the wrist strap system for wrist mobility

man there is so much room that you'll have no mobility issues at all.... feels totally free but sturdy due to eh pillow on top of your hand.  Lets just say I'd let the VE8 pro carborn blocker eat crackers in bed any day....

    Ha.

I thought Pro Logos was common knowledge.

Sorry mate.  I'm routinely disappointing you.

    ;)

usually i do the disappointing so this is kind of a nice change....

Just order Pro Logos as a mod.

NHL spec branding simplicity.  Only 3 branding items allowed on a blocker.

where the shit were you 19 weeks ago!

if you ever used a v7 xf how does it compare to the v8?

their description is pretty accurate.  The pad on the back of the hand is nice and soft but gives the firmness and control as if you were wearing it strapped down.  Tonnes of wrist room, and super comfy...

    from Vaughn...

    Details

Brand new for 2018, Vaughn Custom Sports releases the newest creation in their most accomplished Velocity family line, the Vaughn Velocity VE8 Pro Carbon Senior Goalie Blocker.

The VE8 blocker takes the most successful pieces of both the V7 XF and XR blockers. First, the board is based off of the V7 XF to give the goalie a lighter, balanced feel. The sidewall, palm and backhand protection is all from the V7 XR model which gives the goalie better articulation at the wrist.

This blocker has a very large presentation to the shooter, which is due to the bindingless design. The HD board on the inside is coupled with Carbon reinforcements to help reduce weight and increase protection. That Carbon material carries over to the sidewall to give the goalie the protection and confidence they need when squeezing the hand tight against the body. The adjustable tension adjustment has been removed and replaced by a contoured palm which has a tighter fit on the hand compared to older models.

Lastly the palm is built off of a full VX suede design which is double reinforced on the palm, thumb and all bindings where the stick might rest.

Compared to the Vaughn Velocity VE8 Pro blocker, the VE8 Pro Carbon blocker will feature higher quality materials and a North American build.

If you are a Vaughn Velocity enthusiast that wants a new improved feel that is based off of the traditional Velocity style blocker, while still encapsulated in the North American factories, look no further than the Vaughn Velocity VE8 Pro Carbon Senior Goalie Glove.

Wow, they look so good with those pads.

So awesome you got two free sticks. Great move on their part.

I fully understand about the blocker. The first time I put my hand in my new VE8 blocker i was quite amazed at how comfortable it was. The pad on top of the backhand is so good and keeps the blocker really snug and stiff feeling, which i really enjoy.

Rebounds come off it really hot.

Are you going to bake the glove?

Oh man it’s been so long I totally forgot you can bake your mitt!

  13. It’s a festivus miracle!!!  Buddy from the store through in 2 premiere composite twigs for free as well.  Build is solid as. This blocker is like sticking your hand in a pillow, so comfy!

    Much agreed.

Besides, the thread on your pads will be black eventually if you do your job well in the net  :)

    just sayin'.

where the shit were you with this wisdom a few hours ago ;)

    I believe thats mentorship sandbaggin'

  15. that was me earlier.... cooler heads have prevailed .... Chalk it up as my first world problem for the day.  At this point i just really need new mitts, and those ones do look pretty deadly.

    Yeah, I hear you.

In screw-up situations they can put a rush on them, supposedly.

Sorry,  man. It's so disappointing when they can't just follow a spec sheet. There shouldn't be any errors if they stop to have a look at each piece, step by step.

Update to the update... the stitching faux pas might have been due to the guy ordering them not specifying the request (even though he also ordered my pads for me at the same time)....  He is seeing if he can now pay out of pocket to have the issue corrected.... faaaaaaaaaaack.

    Damnit,  Doobie.

That sucks. I was hoping to hear some good news from you anyday now.

Are you taking them or sending them back?

In the process of deciding what im going to do.... Buddy from the store that ordered them is in convo with Vaughn... so we will see.  I'm a little steamy right now as you could imagine,  but i really cant wait another 4.5 months to get the right gloves either...  decisions decisions...
