Nope... getting rid of stuff is part of the intricate song and dance I must undergo to justify purchasing new stuff..... It's like a birds mating ritual .... except with equipment....

So it seems like knee blocks seem to be an issue in every case.
No issues with sweat bands.
Hals are generally pretty good, but have issues at times
Shipping and transparent communication can be sketchy
Would the majority of people agree with this?
Talking to a few friends that also have had issues, I common thread seems to be that when something does go wrong they tend to somehow try and blame you first for the issue before themselves... Which definitely leaves a bad taste in customers mouths...

If anyone was wondering, here it is. After many years, I switched over to Sportmask.
And for the misogynists out there that think female music artists don't belong on goalie masks, I hope this burns your ass. Oh and @TheGoalNet, my buddies at Eye Candy Air say hello.
Why the switch to Sportmask? Which model did you go with? Do you play on a team that has habs jerseys or do you just really like the habs?
so many questions still...

Ok well, even though i was warned not to I ordered some knee blocks to complete my Reactor overhaul. After 2 months, I have finally pulled the plug. Last week i was informed that my knee blocks would be shipped out that week and I would get a message to that end.... No message came. Today I inquired into whether they had an update and I was told that they would be ready and happy to ship the blocks as soon as they revieved my payment (ordered through a rep) and..... get this..... their foam order shows up..... So the blocks were'nt even built yet.
I thanked them for their time and told them I'd build my own as I'd already been dealing with knee issues for 2 months waiting for them.
I should have heeded @Kayen's warning....

Gents! I'm looking at finally updating my skates... Looking at the 1X vs X900, anyone dig into the differences between the 2? Is the extra $300 cdn schmeckles worth it or would one be better using that cash towards some tydan blades.
Sorry if this has already been discussed...

So far - really good. I have scuffs from pucks on the vinyl but no tear. I've had it on for a few months now and see both ice and roller pucks every few days.
The one flaw is that at the edge of the mask at one location is curling back a little. It's from me putting the mask in the mask bag and not from use.
I spent like $15 in vinyl wrap and a few bucks more for a big decal of a rampart lion (my mask is Scotland flag themed).
throw up some pics of your mask!

About a year ago I bought bungee cord at Home Depot. I modified my Pro Laces and switched the cord. Its actually the same width as the one from HD. They only sell black.
yup just standard 4mm shock cord.

I did the same to mine!
Nice, I was cringing a bit cutting them open not knowing how they were secured in the tab, but was happy to see they were just sewn.

nice stuff @Doobiesnax you’ve really personalized your gear
how goes your overall on ice performance?
Its actually been great man. I feel super comfortabe and confident out on the ice, I actually racked up my second shut out of the season this morning!
Being able to modify my gear has been awesome as I have been able to tinker until it feels right. This site and its members have really aided in rekindling my passion for playing goal, I can't thank you guys enough!

Ok finally got around to snapping some pics:
C/A: Vaughn V6 2200
Pants: Vaughn Legacy 4000 (classics!)
How Do I Wear it?: Ive modded my chesty and pants with buckles on both the front and back of both the chesty and pants. No suspenders. Straps and buckles keep the pants up. (See pics below)
Any Issues?: Nope. Now that ive added the straps i can adjust the tension on the front and back of the pants to how i want it each and every time i strap up.

are you trying to buy all of the cord? i just bought 5 feet of 1/4" shock cord, 6' of 3/16" shock cord, 3 feet of 2" velcor, 2 - 1" SR buckles, 4 ' of 1" nylon strapping, 4' of 2" elastic strapping and 4 - 1" rings for $12 cad at my local repair shop. It cost the store more to pay the kid to gather up all this stuff for me than the actual stuff!!!

You've automatically become the boards acetone expert (until another more knowledgeable comes to take your place):
-Any particular brand?
-Based on the labels you removed, think it would work removing the Bstar from these kneepads?
Brand = acetone is acetone
b start= is the logo on Jen pro or plastic? Either way it will come off.
General tips would be to get a clean rag, put some acetone on it and lightly run the logo in small circles as not not damage the material underneath. It will start to smudge at first but keep repeating until everything is removed working your way around the rag.
After wipe down with another rag and water. I applied a bees wax leather sealer to the surfaces after also to ensure they remained water proof.
