  1. I could write a book about the T4000/T6000 Legacy models catching breaks. As a baseball guy, those were my favorites.

I have used Brian's gloves in the past that are more flat thumb than the newer models.

This is so hard to make a definitive guide as breaks are different on the same models through the years too. The CCM/Koho models are the best guide with the 580/590. The old Brian's had that 45 degree break:

you are putting a fastex/quickclip (or whatever you like to call it!) on the back of the C/A and attaching the other end of it to the pants?

This holds the front down as well? I like the idea of it...but how well does it work?
What I do is put the clip on the loop on the back of my pants. Next, when I put my c/a on, I clip it to the chest strap on top of the spine padding. (I really need a picture)

Theroy is that the clip holds up your pants and holds down you c/a when you are bent over. I had trouble with the c/a sliding up on me and my pants sliding down when I bent over. This solves both issues.

Plus it allows more freedom in the front. I felt constricted when I tied the chest to my pants. I have been using this setup for a few years now.

I then leave the clip on my pants and use it to hang the pants up to dry.

I buy these clips at the register (they have them in a little bucket) at Home Depot for 99 cents.

The carabiner is the yellow loop.

  3. The caribiner is one of the aluminum ones you can get anywhere for $1. I buy mine at Home Depot or Lowe's.

Hook it to the fight strap loop on the pants.

The back plate of the chest protector may or may not have somewhere to clip to - like the Brown unit above. At first I used just one of the two belly straps that went across the black/spine pad of my Simmons chest protector. On my latest Vaughn unit, I just sewn on a small loop of elastic at the end of the spine pad.

  4. I've had decent success just leaving it in my bag after I use it so let the warm sweat stay in longer. I guess it's the same as the hot water / steam methods above. I just keep my bag packed a day in the garage so that the glove it in the closed position the whole time.

Not only do you get the flex - you get that broken in stink sooner too. Now it's game ready!
