Mask companies have responded to me on my IG posts about the back plate gap issue. This is not me doing a virtual fitting or anything and does not replace a proper in person fitting...

But the temple fit is supposed to be more important than the back plate fit

    This right here 👆

I was wearing the most recent 960 up until a little while ago. To The Goal Net's point, profile shapes are different from the NME ones (960/950 vs 940/930), but for what it's worth, I have an approx. 59cm head and was wearing a medium 960. A large had way to much side to side slop for my head. I have a generally narrow face, and the temples/cheeks were perfectly snug in the medium, while there was a slight backplate gap (barely there). For retail masks, I moved over to the CCM Axis Pro (not the XF) and had to size up to a large given the fluid inside pods, that took up more padding space.

Now, I'm just some random guy on the internet, but the photos above look very close. I can't see how your forehead is resting against the front padding, but if it's snug up front, and along the temples, then I would probably stick with the medium. Play around with the backplate adjustments to get the fit all dialed in to what's comfortable.

Curious, had anyone ever attached the foam directly to the shell without the brackets?

On an SK2000? It could be done, but probably not a good idea. The air gap will help with impact protection. You could/should on some of the composite shells though.

Finally finished up a refurb on this SK that needed a little love. New HM30 cage, new/old stock clips, and new padding from Resilient.

  3. Was finally able to get the 580 set (with reproduction blocker) and Warwick Hasek out to a shinny. First time out on skates with cowlings in a long time as well. Great to strap on an older set again!

Can you add a picture or two from side/inside too? The shoulder area seems pretty well wrapped around.

Every time I see this CCM Pro I can't understand why they have left the collar area so open? The heartguard could be a lot more "U" shaped to cover up those corners and from what I've modified some C/As that area doesn't really affect anything mobilityvise but is very sensitive spot to get a puck hit to.

Not a problem. I took some additional pictures and measurements for the curious. Nothing that wasn't already covered in @TheGoalNet's video on the unit, but again, these are very rough measurements. I was also using one hand in the pictures, so some may look more off than others.

Units side by side. Front and back:

    Bauer elbow floater (6.5" across):

CCM shoulder floater (largest point - 5.5" across) - this may look off due to holding the tape with one hand for the picture:

    Bauer shoulder floater (7" across):

    Forearm comparison:

The CCM is noticeably more rounded off than the Bauer. I did not take any circumference measurements here.

    Wrap comparison:

The CCM is very similar to the premier body, or older CCM/Reebok/Koho units with its three distinct wrap sections. The Bauer is a little flatter, but the same body as the One95/NXG units.

@Obiwanjabroni Lucky MOFO! Who did you sweet deal for that baby? Good price I hope.

I would be placing my life in danger, should I share such secrets. All jokes aside, it was a pricy buy, but you don't see these brand new too often, so that rationalized my purchase.

  5. Did a glove swap on my 589's to a set of P2's. Closest I could get color way wise with the customizer.

589 blocker had curved finger protection and what looks/feels like a higher hand position. The P2 I went with the straight finger protection and centered hand position.

589 glove is a 590 single tee, pro palm. P2 I went with a 600 pro palm, double tee. After using the 600 for so long with a previous EF3 set, and just recently going back to the 590 (Koho), I realized how much more natural the 600 break feels, at least for me.

@SaveByRichter35 Yeah, that would be really expensive. Trust me, The XPG1 pant will make you forget about any other pant. These are tanks!

@McKenney HockeyNice looking pant. These look like they would be a great replacement to the discontinued 11k. If they could be ordered without a belt, these look like they could be my next pair.

Do you have a picture of the inner thigh cradle?

I’m looking at this mask for a replacement, currently I’m wearing an old Bauer 9600, how does this fit compared to Bauer’s?

Not sure how to answer this, as Bauer has a broad range of fits across the different styles. If you are talking to the 9600 specifically, I'm not entirely sure, as I haven't worn one since about 2005/2006. I did find the 515 to be a little tighter fitting in the cheeks then the 960XPM, but I attribute that more to the shape/position of the padding then anything else.

Nice, can't wait to hear what it's like!

Also, what made you decide on the 515 versus the other models? Just curious.

Will be taking it for a spin tomorrow.

I previously had the VX-5 and I found it to be too tight in the cheeks, as well as a bit shallow for my head. When I was speaking with Rance, he said that this one fits slightly bigger than the other F-Series models, so I thought I would give it a shot. Fits me pretty close to perfect.  Definitely in the long chin club, as I would say it's almost in line with my previous Bauer Cujo's I've had.
