  1. First beer league championship for me this past weekend! Won MVP of the Playoffs, too!

Definitely a game to remember. I stopped a penalty shot in the 2nd period of the game to preserve our 1-goal lead, along with a save in the last few seconds of the game. We ended up winning 4-3.

    Feels good man.

I have played shinny with a few former NHL enforcers. Most of these could mop the floor with the local hotshots. Most of them were supremely talented, but they needed to stand out, so they’d fight in camp. Of course instead of working on stick handling, they would practise fighting. But no doubt, their stick handling and shot can make people look silly.

It's true. Most-likely these NHL Enforcers were the "skill guys" on their respective teams growing up and were not always true enforcers all the time (some didn't fight at all). As they advanced through the various leagues, they had to reinvent themselves on the ice to make it to the NHL. It's the way it works sometimes to live the dream

Hey im thinking of getting custom pads and wonder if you guys think having a solid color pad makes it easier for people to seeopen net.

I think there have been studies on this with colours but it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, the goalies skill matters the most. Order whichever pad colour you like and have fun with your custom set.

How do you order custom gear? Do you order directly from the manufacturer's website, or do you instead choose a retailer (e.g. Goalie Monkey), input the specs for your custom gear through them, and then the retailer forwards the information to the manufacturer?

I've only dealt with smaller companies such as PAW, where the retailer and manufacturer are the same.

It can be both. Usually with big retail brands, you deal with the retail store and they place the order for you.

Similar situation as you. I have my old pro return Reebok PS1 (black and yellow one) that I just keep having rebuild by Salvi here in Massachusetts every few years. It kills rebounds. Granted, when I wait too long in between rebuilds, I get bruised and hurt...like what's happening now. I would find someone to rebuild what you have to the specs you want

Those older RBK P1's are sweet. The newer CCM version of this is nice, too.

  6. I also use Pro Laces. I used the versions with the knot on them so it still feels like I have some slack (like I had with skate laces). I don't even know they are there until they need to be used. The version I use also doesn't need any metal or screws which is nice.

    They are the 'TGN' Spec.

  7. Has anyone ever loosened the laces on their CCM glove successfully? I heard that small tweak makes it close way better but i'd be hesitant to try it on my own glove.

I have a old Lefevre RBK Premier 2 glove I can test loosening the laces on if anyone has any tips for me?

Both pictures show one of my favorite subtle tweaks to axis 2 that I’ve wanted ccm to do across both of their lines for awhile.
Pretty sure he’s not using the matching glove because he prefers a 600 to the stock axis 2 break

EDIT: talked with ccm and it appears he never ordered the stock axis 2 break so not sure why he’s still using his old 600 unless he ordered a different break

    I seriously dig.
