Was finally able to get the 580 set (with reproduction blocker) and Warwick Hasek out to a shinny. First time out on skates with cowlings in a long time as well. Great to strap on an older set again!

I didn't know Hasek was on these boards..... Cool!

    But seriously, great set! :)

  2. Apologies for the terrible photos, but so glad I was able to start working in my new Bauer 960 mask this week.

Our team also received our jerseys for the 2023-24 season and they look sweet.

Never thought I'd rock a purple/orange jersey in the crease...

Thanks.  Brown makes a solid product.  The backpack was handy but my old back didn't like the weight.  Best alternative I could find.  Definitely goes through doorways easily.

That is good to hear. I have always wondered if a backpack bag was an option for me, but the weight on the back concerned me as well. I'm only 30, but I've had back issues in the past and I'd like to keep it self if possible.

The through doorways thing is nice. I have a massive 3-wheeled Warrior bag and, while nice, can be quite cumbersome and has trouble going in/out of doors in certain rinks.

    Thanks for your responses!

Jonas Gustavsson for Detroit, around 2014-15 if I'm not mistaken. He wore the original Ritual series and then G2's. There were a few other guys around that time also.

Always loved his style when he was in the NHL.

  5. Dang, those skates were in rough shape. Hope you can turn them into to something usable. Glad I dry my boots after every skate.... Doesn't look like the previous user took care of their skates as nice as they could have...

  6. Update: Finally did go ahead and cut my first paddle. Just shortened it an inch (no fancy cut-out this time) but did the trick.

Will be using it tomorrow so it should play like the paddle size I'm used to playing (25").

Covered the cut area with stretch wrap tape and sealed along the edges with white tape, covered by some clear on the ends, as well as the middle.

I don't mind using clear tape in this area as it doesn't interfere with me gripping the stick, but I still feel I can throw out a poke check and am still able to reel the stick back in with ease.

EDIT: Used the stick and it felt great!

Now hoping it holds up. You just never know with a paddle mod how it may affect durability/longevity of a stick (i have heard varying opinions on this subject), but here's hoping. I am not a big puck-playing goalie, so hoping this will help a paddle cut mod last a bit longer.

  7. One and done for me. I like my gear very familiar, so I don't like to switch it up at all. Only when it needs to be replaced I will invest in something new.

I might switch a stick out here & there, but that's about it.
