To get a feel based second opinion

    Agree:

    CCM 580 = Brian's Subzero = Bauer 1X/2X

    Don't Agree:

    CCM 590 = Bauer 2S

For me the 2S much closer resembles the CCM 600

Don't know Vaughn enough to comment there.

Kinda true with the 2s as it feels like it's in between, but I always thought the supreme line always tried to copy a 590 but couldn't?

Dude the new ve8 1 piece literally is a CCM 590 clone. They tried and tried and finally managed to clone it

  2. I personally think with gloves, to simply try it on. Just relying on break angles do not always provide accurate hand feel.

    CCM 590 = Vaughn VE8 1 piece = Genetik = Bauer 2S

    CCM600 = Vaughn PVE/VE8 2 piece/SLR (a bit modified)

    CCM 580 = Brian's Subzero = Bauer 1X/2X.

Warrior doesn't really count as I don't notice THAT much of a difference when switching liners since the glove itself is still the same.

NOTE: This is just what I feel when I try them out. REsults may vary.

Oddly, having tried on both a 34" and 35" CCM I liked the way the 35" fit.  Based on the fact that I'm a 35 in Warrior or Brians, I fully expected to be a 34 in CCM but it just felt like it was a tad short at the knee.  I guess the moral of the story is try gear on whenever possible!

Weird. I'm a 35 warrior and had to go to a 34 CCM premier 2. Maybe because I don't play with a boot strap and have long toe ties? (1.5-2")

@Kirk3190 Will weave be on the "stock" retail sets?  I'm hoping for an all black weave or mostly black weave for a stock option.  Thanks.

Goaliemonkey will have stock retail full black weave sets.

The hockey Shop in BC has black with white outer rolls.

If I didn't have back to backs tomorrow I'd go.

It's all good. I couldn't go this weekend anyway. I will be there next weekend to put a skate lace pocket in my new glive

The GT2 chest is going to impress a lot of goalies.  My "opinion" probably doesn't carry much clout being that I wear a Warrior hat everyday to work but, once you see the GT2 in person its blatantly obvious that the protection level is  the best on the market.

It impressed me, and I only just tried it on.

I'm glad, Kirk, that you guys always seem to be able to update your gear with what the public wants. There's many a thing that I have Tinkered with Warrior gear since the G2 and the mods I have made always magically find an iteration of it on newer line gear. It's nice to know I'm not crazy and other people think of it too.

I'm a huge fan of the GT1 glove and sing its praises, so the deviation from it has me a tad nervous. But, from the descriptions, the closing fashion of it is still is up my alley.

And I'm down, was thinking of going tomorrow after work. I live 10 minutes away so let me know if you want to meet up.

    How about Saturday? =D

  8. Also, on that note, I got a great deal at GM for the GT1 pro classic blocker and G4 pro classic trapper.

Now all I gotta do is wait for the new THS spec GT2 pads to come in......royal blue and white.

    CAN'T WAAAAIT

    Glove one is up too.

Internal strapping of the glove is identical. Really am going to try and get my hand into one this weekend if THS has a glove to check out.

I saw it already. The glove closes WAY better. I actually liked it more than the GT (it felt weird on my hand). THe palm is beefy with some extra padding over the break area too. Blocker's about the same. I had a chance to also inspect the new chesty and I think it's going to be a big hit. The arms are well beefed up at the forearm and bicep, elbow floaters have TWO flaps instead of the usual 1, and the heart/stomach pad is now a proper, significant center piece. There's also a lot of little details around that helps with long term wear areas, etc.

Hell. You should hit me up and we should go see this TOGETHER

  10. Got to look at the gt2s this past weekend. The new glove feels MUCH better and beefier. Closes great and feels very similar to a CCM 60 degree. The chesty I think has the biggest change. Integrated suspender loops on the shoulder floaters, vertical protection strips where the body meets side protection, and the new arms are waaay beefier and tougher. Floaters and bicep pads are much thicker. The unit is a tad heavier but the protection is way better on an already robust unit. It'll be my next one.

  11. I don't have many action shots but these are just a couple of  me standing around watching the play. The second one is when the play was come down and me slightly adjusting my position

  12. I have massive velcro wear issues with my p2.9s. the large strap behind the calf already lost half the hard velcro, due to the lack of tabs to pull them off after use. The soft side velcro is missing chunks. The knee to calf elastic velcro, is starting to wear, again, due to lack of a pull tab. The toe bindings are wearing with the threading popping in several areas. Both protrusions on the ice facing side of the landing blocks have detached and rode to the inside, causing me to lose balance when sliding. Upon inspection, they were just glued in with fuckin glue gun glue in 2 small spots. The landing block themselves have started to bend and bow, with one of the blocks cracking halfway through. The speedskin side, on the knee and calf landing, where it meets the nylon, is cut too close to the sliding edge. The nylon to speedskin edge is now starting to rub and wear as i keep using them.

I have been MASSIVELY disappointed by these pads given the engineering and design flaws. All the wear areas are fucking unacceptable. I've only had these since june, playing about 3 games a week.

I will be going back to my Warriors given i have NEVER had wear issues with their senior level g2 or g3 gear.

This stuff is insulting at best.
