Mostly because they don't look good. They're very akin to street hockey pads.
Coop your comments are applicable on certain colors - the black and yellow set we see all over, not sure why CCM has picked such an ugly set to promo their pads ?
-
Nice I also like the red ones but I prefer the top models - I don’t understand why people are bashing the graphics ?
-
TGN - thanks !
Is the parent company Brian’s ? I believe their making hospital grounds ?

Great looking skates !
Question - the tab in the middle of the holder is it permanant anchored there or its part of the blade ? Also are these 3MM or 4MM blades and do you know if Step will be making blades for these skates ?

Two very good looking sets - really like the colour schemes that we can choose with these pads
Look forward to seeing the actual sets

Look forward to seeing the padding on their mask - very interesting mix of different types of padding

TGN has there been an update on these pads ??

Fully agree on your point that they are growing on you, I already like them. I have to say that the faded zone I also like, that’s the area that plays tricks on my eyes.
Other than aesthetic’s that look like they are very flat on the ice when on the B fly which most goalies will appreciate.

Just realized that the pants are awful, eech...

Speed Skin is more ice dependent than CorTech or Primo. It works well on great clean ice. If you’re on bad ice or choppy ice, it has a bigger performance loss than the competition.
I can imagine a high end young goalie like @Big2 ‘s son is usually on a decent sheet and likes it.
My league rink has an undersized generator and the Midwest humidity is brutal. Speed Skin does work as well in August for me as it does it January
Rinne and Saros use Speed Skin. As I’ve heard the story, Lefebvre and CCM did not see eye to eye on Speed Skin. As a result, it was not stocked by Lefevre in anything but white and not promoted to the pros.
With CCM owning EF4 and Axis pro production now, I expect this to change.
TGN thanks for chiming in. I originally went with the speedskin based on your comments last year and looking back we made the right choice !

Because it looks dumb and unnecessary?
Guys could they be solving an issue at the top of the pad ?
Again, not a fan of Bauer pads but aesthetically I like these .

Really I certainly can’t comment but will look into this. Not sure what he’ll be wearing next year, he has been asking about Bauer but I told him that there cheap, maybe they perform well but cheap I won’t be forking out the $$ for Bauer’s. if he wants a pair he will have to pay for them !

Ross you went over an above. - nice work and very ingenious

That material is proprietary to Brians... Because Mike Vaughn has a stake in Brians he is able to offer it thru Vaughn.
Jenpro or Weave is far superior to speedskin
Cwarmar in what respect are the two other products better than speedskin ?
My son’s premiers are 100 % speedskin - there are no wear issues, not sure about slide-ability but no pre mature wearing and his on the ice on average 5 days a week for nearly 9 months a year.

Got it - thanks

Czę Republic IIHF goalie Dostal wearing Axis combo - I know some of the original comments where negative about the graphics but I like it

Guys do we know if Tydan makes a fat blade like Step did for the Bauer Vertex holder ?
