  1. Ok GOTCHA, and yeah that's why I was asking if it sounded like I was being a dick LOL I do appreciate the suggestions and even if its not what I am looking for, at least I am talking to other goalies about goalie stuff......my wife listens to me with glossed over eyes and has no clue what I am talking about so there's that HAHA
  2. Wanted to add Jack added some pics for his system on his web page so at least I got to see what they looked like on the mask
  3. Like I said I appreciate the suggestions, just wanted to steer this thread back in the original direction... If you are saying I am being a dick, then my last post was taken wrong. I don't want to have to make something myself if I don't have to, if its a solid solution I'd love to buy it and support someones business. I'd like to try something new other than the standard mask straps - if that solution is Solid and Comfortable. But if there isn't anything out there then I am more than glad to DIY it.
  4. The whole point of this post isn’t for suggestions (I appreciate them none the less) it was a request for pictures of Medusa Straps or even Halo shock cord mask straps. I know I can use what’s already been on the mask. I had a failure on a snap, I can just replace the snap too…. But wanted to try something different. if I’m going to buy anything new, I’ll just buy it and be done with it. The tinkering aspect came in to play because Monster went south and you can’t buy the Medusa straps anymore. Halo has their version, but for some reason Jack won’t respond and I can’t see what his version looks like installed. (Mind you I don’t want to DIY copy his design, I’d just buy them if it looked good)
  5. I found some at Home Depot, EZ cable clips look like they will fit the bill at least to start with https://www.homedepot.com/p/Gardner-Bender-1-4-in-Aluminum-EZ-Clips-15-Pack-PAC-1525/100125860
  6. Nah I like to tinker, created my own toe tie system so figured may as well crank something out for my mask too. I may very well order some of the outsider straps to have an use and then give myself more time to come up with my own creation. And I agree Sara is awesome - she is why I have the materials to make my own items from time to time
  7. Yep those are the leading candidate, but they are 4 weeks out on black I was intrigued by the shock cord versions too, I can create all my own attachments etc, but figured If I could get a look at what Monster did it would give me a good starting point. Halo hockey has some shock cord attachment ones too, I asked him if he had any pics of them on a mask - awaiting a response there.
  8. Monster is no more, which is why I am looking for pics. The attachments on the top of the mask look like cage clips and then the sides had J clips. Just want to see how its made, so I can bust out the sewing machine and try my own version.
  9. I'm looking for alternatives to the mask bands that are out there - last night I had a snap that corroded through on a fairly new mask - in a game.... was searching around and see the sewn tab types, the type I have with snaps and Monster's Medusa. Obviously Monster isn't around anymore so I can't go look at their pics..... Anyone that has the Medusa would you mind sending me some pics of it? Specifically the inside of the backplate attachment pieces and the clips that go on the mask. Thanks!
  10. There’s a Potvin model too, it’s just not listed :)
  11. Well hell, I am today years old when I found out about this hahah
  12. Sheathing it is a good idea, ala Pro Lace armor. Might add that for just in casies! What’s the beat way to do that? I didn’t know laces were hollow lol
  13. I’m not 100% sure tbh, I haven’t ever tried a short loop. I do know when the cordage is shorter you don’t get as much stretch as you do with longer cordage. I’ve found the way I have it now allows for less tension when the cord stretches because there is more to allow that stretch along the length than if the cord was shorter. Ive never had an issue with skate cuts in the cords, the only time I’ve had to replace one is because my dog chewed one in half LOL
  14. They work great, I've used a variation of this before: I just took everything I that didn't work quite right for me and came up with this new set. You can see in that last post how the cords are attached to the skate, but I'm not sure I like just having those attaching it. Going to work on something to attach it better to the skate, thinking about integrating the Lundy loop that comes on skates now for that purpose.
  15. Here is the first version of mine, got to use it once then blew out both my MCL's, came back and used it one more time and 'Rona shut the skates down. Will be giving it a go Sunday and Monday again to see if I need to adjust it, but I have liked it so far.
  16. I have had various sets of bungee toe ties throughout the years and liked certain aspects of all of them. I decided I was going to combine those aspects and make something faster and more reliable for myself. None of the ideas I used were invented by me, but I combined them all to make something I haven't seen/tried before. I did this in the past and really liked how it performed, but it needed improvements. Now this version has all the improvements except one I am still thinking about how to achieve. The reason I revisited this style (was using Pro laces and really like them) is to save a few minutes of time, no more weaving the bungees through my skates. With the 'Rona raging about we are only allowed in the rink 15 mins before the skate, so saving as much time as possible is now a thing (I used to show up a minimum of an hour early to stretch, warm up, do visual training etc.). Also I upgraded to some V9 pads and Pro Laces won't easily go on there without a new toe bridge anyways! Concept: The bridge is a tab style attachment that mounts to the pad in place of the stock toe bridge The bungees stay on the skate permanently and interfaces with the pad via a tab. No removal needed That way when I put my pads on, I don't have to lace the bungees through my skates each time, I simply insert the tab in to the toe bridge and squeeze it together and I'm good to go. Pics: Stock V9 bridges - oddest bridges I have ever seen on a pad New "tab" style bridges - This pic was before I punched the mounting holes through them Mounted to the pad - just reuse the stock T nuts and hardware Open and ready to accept the skate "tab" Skate tabs Attached to the pad - excuse the crooked sewing being a concept and all, I just wanted functionality. Once I hash it all out, I'll make a "betterer" set lol How it all interfaces together
  17. Nice looking mask! Sucks about the painter though
  18. That's a different company entirely from Protechsport or Pro's Choice. Here is the info you will want: https://sites.google.com/site/protechsportinc1/english_1/the-company (Website) protechsport @ gmail.com (Contact email)
  19. Who did you contact? And where are you located? Sounds like you emailed Pro's Choice and not Michel at Protechsport
  20. How do you get ahold of Aumais? I need to get something in the works.
  21. I guess that depends. New Image is a good mask, but the fit of the cage isn't as nice as id like, and the vision out of mine was restricted a bit so I had to modify it. I traded in an old mask so got $150 off the mask price so went with a Shark at the time. Again good mask. PS has been in the NHL and on pros heads for years and Micehl is a master at what he does. Financially I can buy another mask, and I have the time to wait for it. That's all up to you though. Do you have time? The price for a custom mask from PS is outstanding for what you get (Thanks exchange rate!) If you are meaning between the Shark and the PS.... contact them and get a quote, it could be different. For example I traded in an old mask when I got my Shark so I paid less in cash for the mask. Motown goalie posted a perfect pic of hidden strap backplate. It just uses a minimalist approach to the strapping, and I prefer that look. Fit and function feel about the same to me, but some prefer the full strapping on the backplate. I think they both can get you a white cage. I may at some point go with a white cage as well, but the last one I had the powdercoat was terrible and was chipping and falling off, so switched to the stainless look I didn't have my wrap cleared, but I also did a DIY one and plan on changing it up. Not sure on the pros and cons of clear coating over a wrap
  22. Well you can’t say that and then not elaborate lol
  23. His site says 35 weeks currently. He said the timer starts when he gets the mold or payment, whichever gets there first. I’ve got a pretty new Shark 954 so not in a hurry. This was purely a lust and impulse buy, but I’m sure this will become my main mask once I have it. My plaster wraps come tomorrow I think I will ask for a sling as well. May as well try it out.
