  1. This is the product you should be getting at retail for the amount of money they charge for "pro level" gear.
  2. The OD1N line for pads surely changed the game. Also, the Bauer 1S goalie skate.
  3. I have the GFL Pro and love how it looks. This thing looks like a Pro knock-off. The back plate is ugly, the cage attachment points look cheap, and the shell itself doesn't seem right. Ever since CCM and Lefevre parted ways, the CCM stuff has just missed the mark in my opinion.
  4. I would try this before using the heat gun. The shell is really not that pliable other than "wrapping" over the top of the foot. Another option is to rebake the liners.
  5. Try wearing the lower buckle looser. The top buckle is supposed to be super snug and bottom just tight enough to hold. Might be squishing his foot.
  6. Comment about baking....check! Now just waiting for the "You'll ruin your skates if you bake them at home!"
  7. What's with all the CCM mask guys going to Pro Choice? I get the pad to Lefevre/True...
  8. 175-180. Leave it on the whole time too. As long as it is convection.
  9. I did. I have been baking skates at home for a long time, but I do have a convection oven. I did the whole Konekt process at home.
  10. I’ve found the best way to get the liners right is to first bake following the normal instructions. Once the skates are cooled, rebake just the liners for 4 minutes and readjust. This way, the shell is already formed and you get a better liner mold vs having a soft liner and shell during the regular process. Konekt hack! I highly recommend! :)
  11. What is going on with this skate? Seen a few pros with similar boot…
  12. You’ll want the toe sleeves to help make room for your feet and also not leave “grooves” or indents from toes. You could make your own or I would contact Bauer and have them ship a pair.
  13. This is my mod for Pro Laces. Tie the lace through the loop in the liner and then place UNDER the lower buckle so it doesn’t have tension on it. Leave enough slack so you can slide velcro staps through. Better than having anything directly attached to the buckles!
  14. Haters going to hate until they actually try these. Bauer rarely if ever has a miss in the skate category.
  15. He means when the skate is on the foot. You are supposed to really clamp down the top strap to avoid movement and take full advantage of the flex. The lower strap is meant to be snug, but not cranked down.
  16. Also, the longevity of the liner and if the metal pieces are prone to rusting. Curious if the liners are to be removed between skates. Interesting there are no vent ports/drains in the bottom of the shell.
  17. The Konekt will be an interesting release for sure. Curious to see if this becomes an industry standard or if it goes the way of "MyFlex" Bauer pads.
  18. That’s really sad. Always loved his style of writing and happy attitude! I will miss his frequent posts on here. RIP
  19. I am confused with the new Bauer "Game Fit" sizing. At the top of the chart, it lists foot size and then converts to what size skate you would need. Does this now run true to size? For instance, if your foot size is 10, it says you need a 10 skates. Typically, your shoe size is 1.5 sizes bigger than the skate size. Thanks for any clarification!
  20. Love the old "B" Bauer logo on the top. What is the difference with a game ready palm and adding 3mm of poron VS. just getting a pro palm? How much thicker is the standard Pro palm?
