Thank you, I’ll give that a try. Makes sense since it’s pulling back with so much tension.

First time on the ice with the pads and it’s night and day from my last set of pads. I don’t know why it took so long for me to use modern pads. I thought it was going to be hard to transition from a Vaughn style soft double break pad to a somehow break stiffer pad but there was very little tinkering to get the pads right. glove: this was the piece that I have to get use to the most. I’m coming from a double T Simmons glove to a single T glove. The glove was pretty much broken in but the pocket just feels smaller to me and I had a couple pucks hit the perimeter of the glove, I put it more on user error. blocker: I loved the blocker it felt awesome. I’m with most people that a blocker is a blocker but I felt like I was able to send pucks high off the glass or I to the netting very easy and could punch the puck into the glass. pads: I thought the pads would be my biggest adjustment but they are so light and easy to move around in. I was able to slide across the crease with ease. On fresh ice I was able to slide and just keep going, I was actually worried about over sliding in the beginning. Rebounds were huge and shot off instead of laying a couple feet out and leaving a nice rebound for the other team. my only real issue is that one of my pads was having an issue of not rotating fully back once going down and up. I’m not sure if strapping will really make this a problem it might be the ARS toe strap. I was wearing the boot strap along the back Lundy style and the from bungee through the front hole of my cowling on my CCM U+ skates. If this continues I might throw on my pro laces and see if this helps.

If you could post some that would be awesome, no rush.
-
To put our collective ocd hopefully at ease I can see if this picture that one pad is slightly broken in more than the other and sitting lower. I’m guessing in the picture the pads weren’t lined up completely and one pad was sitting higher than the other.
-
No thank you, it would be something I missed. Realistically it’s just looks but damnit looks are what playing goalie Is all about.
-
Damnit!! now I have to go back and check them out about this too. I’m hoping it’s just that the pads weren’t perfectly lined up when I took the picture.

Me too this is my first “pro” set besides Simmons so I’m not sure if I have way to high of expectations. Your knee roll area looks like mine, slight wrinkles. Do you see or feel that it really effects the pads play? I don’t have any wrinkles or loose looking jenpro just wavy looking on the knee roll area and the toe area but it’s a pretty small area.

I believe that warrior had these color combos In their catalog but it sounded like the shop would have to put in an order for them if they wanted the classics set up. maybe they put them up to early and realized it? Before I got a deal on my Pro’s I was going to go with the classic black and white setup. I think they did an awesome job keeping the pads simple and clean but with good accents.
-
I don’t want it to be more flexible maybe I didn’t word that correctly I don’t want the pad to turn into an “L”. If the pad flattens out the stack will move down, sorry if that’s confusing.

I’ve been looking at a lot of g5 pads that warrior is posting on their IG and it seems there a several sets that look to have the same spacing as mine. Mine could just be bending in different places or one is curved more. The counter argument though is that the physical foam itself is a different size when measured.
-
From what I was told they never shut down just slowed down. I want to see if they can fix the pads especially the break foam if it is actually different size. The waviness doesn’t really bother me since it’s not on any of the sliding surfaces and you cant really see it. I already waited 13+ weeks for these ones, idk how much longer I would have to wait. on another note does the boot break In that much and lower the pad at all? Trying to see if the knee stack will come down at all.
-
Now I have to go check that too!!! im just chalking it up to being in a box and one was upside down and the other was right side up. I’m sure after playing in them they will both break in evenly.
-
Just kind of sucks since I waited 13 weeks for these pads and there are minor imperfections on them. The waviness doesn’t really bother me since it’s pretty hard to notice and I don’t see it hindering the pad. It’s the break foam being twisted and shorter than the other one that is making my OCD obsess about it.
-
I wouldn’t of noticed it but the gap where the break is is larger on one pad. I do t think it would make the pads play any different just ocd since I just have to look at them. The pads are the same height with one being a fraction shorter but I chalk that up to not having them being perfectly side by side.
-
I might be knit picking at this point but I noticed that one break in my pad was little different than the other and after some measuring it seems one piece of foam is smaller than the other, not by a lot and was twisted. There is also some waviness on the inside of the pad and toe area. idk if this is something to contact warrior about. Kind of wanted “pro” level gear to be help to a higher standard even if made off shore.

Damn you young whippersnappers and being tall!!!! im 32 and entered the army at 5”11 and now 5”10
-
Maybe everyone’s shin and thigh area is different? I didn’t think that I could use 35’s but I would fit in them
-
I’m 5’11 on a good day but usually 5’10. I could of gone with 35’s but I ordered when no stores were open and just off of talking with TGC and warrior. I can snap you some picture later if you want of where my knees landing. It’s a little higher in the stack but I like it since in theory I should have better control over the pad. They are already taller than my older pads so as long as my five hole is closed I’m happy.
-
Might have to try something like that see if it helps or just break it in the old fashion way.
-
The glove closes completely I just want to shape the pocket a little bit more but it might just need to be used and broken In.
-
Are talking about the bungee strap that’s on the outside of the glove or in the actually glove?
-
How are you guys breaking in the tee/opening of the glove? Mine has that been closed for a long time/ stock sharp pointy T. Trying to get it a little more round so I can get some more coverage.
