* trigger warning - post contains grumpy old man thoughts.
Cats really need tkachuk to stop being sideshow bob, play some damn hockey, help his team.
His "tough guy" 2 year old act is so done.
Now where did I leave my glasses.....
You called, my man. He did what you asked.

It looks like Florida forgot how to play defense.
-
Looks like teams from two different leagues. Vegas is in complete control. Can the change of venue help?
-
Although, I was rooting for Florida, I’m not sure how that last goal wasn’t ruled goaltender interference. The player deliberately put their stick between the goalie’s legs fully in the crease. Of course it had an affect. I never really know what referees are thinking.

Looks like things just went sideways for Oettinger. Three goals on five shots. Wedgewood in now.
Also, dafuq was Jamie Benn thinking?

Looks like you were practicing your diving poke-check.

And as we can see by the final four teams in the playoffs, real hockey franchises are in the south.

The other thing about the Oilers and Vegas series is both teams took so many dumb penalties. They took turns trying to out-dumb the other team.

No team has won three in a row since the Islanders won four in a row. Even the Oilers twice had a gap year during their five cup run.
-
The Oilers are like the Leafs western cousin. Both teams have a ton of money locked up in talented forwards. Then they try to cobble together the rest of the team from the bargain bin. Both teams disappoint come playoffs.
Also, is the era of the ELITE Canadian goalie over? Price seems to be the last one and he’s toast.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned or noticed this, but Akira Schmid is wearing a Maltese neck guard with the logo visible. I wonder if the league noticed. Perhaps they didn’t do anything because the company is defunct (They are defunct, right?). Of course, it won’t matter anymore since the Devils have been eliminated.
I couldn’t find a picture from tonight’s game that shows the neck guard with branding. Here’s a picture from some other game. I did see it during the telecast tonight- 2

That’s because he lives in Seattle. Everything is green there.

One of the things I notice when watching Tampa is that they rely too much on Vasilevskiy. So if he’s using relaxed stances at times to save energy, I imagine that’s why.
This is the kind of thing hockey is bad at, not recognizing that a vital player is being overworked. Especially when it comes to goalies. It’s the type of thing that will have negative effects later. I worry, he’s going to get injured one day because they ask so much from him.- 3

Anybody know what chest protector Pheonix Copley is wearing. In some pictures you can see at one point he was wearing a Kenesky. The branding is visible through the white jersey. Tonight I saw a pattern through the jersey, but couldn't tell if it's still the Kenesky.

All this talk about the toe-tie lace preferences reminds me of the old GSBB days when that one member in Vancouver (What was his name?) was convinced NO toe-ties were the way to go. He tightened the bootstrap a little and went without toe-ties. Do you remember that premise?
Now we’ve swung the opposite direction, no bootstraps and skate lace toe-ties. What a crazy world.

Is there a real advantage or is it a placebo effect? What would those who have used both and use a lot of RVH have to say? What about regular cord instead of bungee cord?

in Gear
Honestly, there are no extras NEEDED on a Brown CA. In other words, buying the 2400 model as is (to your measurements of course) is $839.95 Canadian which currently is $606.05 USD.
Similarly the 2200 model is $829.95 Canadian which is currently $598.83 USD. 2000 model is $819.95 Canadian which is currently $591.62 USD.As you can see, it’s actually not that expensive relative to the other too pro models.
Plus, you can occasionally find a used one on the secondhand market.- 1

Also, don’t feel obligated to buy new from a hockey store. You can find older gear everywhere online. Even in relatively new condition. SidelineSwap, eBay, Facebook marketplace all will have stuff from previous eras. There are even groups on social media that deal entirely in old gear. Vintage Goalie Equipment on Facebook is one example. So don’t feel like you have to shoehorn yourself into new style equipment that won’t work for you.
For example, I wear Graf750 Goaler Pro skates. I got replacement cowlings on SidelineSwap four-ish years ago. I can still find that skate or the cowlings on a site/platform like that even though that skate hasn’t been sold in stores in more than a decade.- 1

Don Simmons is still making their 586 series which is soft all around, even has torsional flex. I use them and have for ten years.
