I was ripped elsewhere for strongly urging others NOT to use hot water in order to work in a glove. I stand by that.

They offer XS now?

At first glace at your pad design, it looks like two white arrows pointing at the five hole. Kinna looks like an orange road sign.

Just pre-ordered a pair of CCM Tacks AS1 goalie skates and step steel to replace my Reebok 11k goalie skates with Bauer Supreme One100 cowlings. I'm looking forward to the increased attack angle!
It's refreshing to hear goalies giving the CCM brand a try in skates. They've lacked in forward progression and/or evolving their goalie skates for the last few years but their latest lines are now being competitive. Now you might have to change your username, eh?

Thanks punisher goalie. My next question would be, is there such thing as a good entry level helmet that is protective but yet not going to break the bank. Or is like the unicorn and doesn't exist...
The short answer is no. I mean, you don't need to spend $900+ and get the best mask on the market.
I know not everyone has the money to spend, but I'v said so in other threads and that is that the number one piece of equipment you NEVER cheap out on is your mask. Spend the $500-600 and get a decent mask.- 1

Decided to steal @MTH idea (with permission of course) to spruce up my mask.
Bought some window stickers of the Scottish lion and applied them to my mask. Some slight imperfections and it's a little bit of a bummer they're not mirrored. But hey, after having flat mask forever, it's cool to have some art.
Good on the stickers, more than 1 painter has told me those masks are a nightmare to paint. lol

...anyway back to Vaughn gear.
I do remember they always offered Iceberg, Pulse, Vertical Stitch and that weird Diamond Stitch even in the first year life cycle of Velocity. I think they're really trying to push forward with the newer graphics and leave older ones in the past.

I think they already have. Statistically speaking, for all the goalies in the National Hockey League wearing Vaughn leg pads, the majority are wearing the Ventus family over all the Velocity series combined! And why not, that leg pad is solid! Dare I say it's better than (if not, the same level as) the CCM Premier.

Are no goaltenders in the National Hockey League (or AHL) wearing the Velocity 8 gear? And if they are, is the graphic that bad where no one has even that?

More info is up on IG and they sent an email regarding pre orders.
Despite the issues everyone (including me) has had with the company, I’m tempted. I’ve been hoping to find a slimmer but protective jock. The part that’s most interesting to me is that the double cup and belly pad are included in a pre order and appear to be removeable.
Can't deny that they look intriguing. I typically find goalies get caught up with the WANT to buy rather than the NEED to buy mostly on the fact that a product is the latest thing on the market.

I think ccm needs to reduce the weight on their next premier 3 model anyone else think so? But it is a little to early to be talking about the premier 3s just yet.
Their internals could probably be a touch lighter and their outer roll could at least use a taper into a triangle or almost flat like the Optik. Otherwise it's very light as is and a definite improvement over the original RBK Premier. Still don't know what "OG" means.

I remember hearing how big Heaton was back in the 90s. Saw a lot of their gear up close and played around with it. But any store that had Heaton also had Koho. And for me, Koho was king and I never even considered another brand. So unfortunately I never owned one "big" piece of Heaton equipment. What I mean by that is I had a very nice chest/arm unit of that brand but otherwise nothing else ever. I have to say I hated the fact that every goalie I played against that had Heaton only had the Brodeur color scheme set up. And I absolutely LOATHED Brodeur. That white/black/red color combination that was his made me so angry cus I hated Brodeur. But I saw the allure though and could appreciate of how nice it was built.

It's a legitimate consumer question. Is HD foam that much more expensive than LD? Is 1/8 of extra padding that more expensive? There aren't that many more bells and whistles that separate the pro and senior retail products. I could understand going from a grand to $1500, but near double the price is big.
I would post these same questions in the Vaughn or CCM or Bauer threads but they don't have a rep there to answer questions. I exclude the Brian's threads cause they have a multiple various product line unlike the Warrior and a fore mentioned brands that carry entry, senior and pro level of the same model.
I cannot be the only one who has thought this and wonders why.
If they don't want to answer the question, it's their prerogative.
I'm simply asking.
I'm not a rep, I'm not an expert in that stuff. But I am privy to some information regarding the mark up on pad sales from the factory to the dealer. And based on what I know about those costs, I find it grossly unfair how much a consumer has to pay for any level of gear. Those number lead me to believe that material costs (at whatever level) are NOT that much.
To summarize, consumers are somewhat getting hosed. -
A handful of negative reviews isn't enough for me to stray from wanting to buy from a company. But after catching up with this thread and seeing all this nonsense, I'm very jaded.
And...any company wanting to associate themselves with Mr. Vogel....doesn't get my support or money.- 1

Ok, this might stir up the tank but I gotta ask...
I'm looking at gear on Pro Hockey Life and comparing prices. The SR warrior pads are $999 whereas the Pro SR is $1949. That's nearly double. I know the shops set their own markup but the prices are pretty standard to what I quoted wherever you look. So I ask you this (Warrior), I, being aware that there is a slight difference in the internals used to fabricate the Pro model, are the materials used that much more expensive to justify the huge gap between the SR and Pro stuff? And don't feel like you're the only one I'm questioning here. Vaughn, CCM, Bauer - they all are doing the same thing.
Just curious to know, understand.
Stir up indeed....

It might be due to the pad being brand new? No other idea why they'd up charge like that. I even got custom specs on mine.
No surprise there. I inquired sometime ago to get this graphic done on a Velocity 7 and the upcharge was $300 just for pads. I don't think it's so much the difficulty or time or effort to do as to why they charge so much. I really think Vaughn tries to discourage people from getting custom graphics with these kinna prices.
